📍 Grindjesee @ Zermatt 🇨🇭 Peaceful Lakeside Hideaway on the 5-Seenweg Trail
Grindjesee is the second lake on the 5 Lakes Hike (5-Seenweg) from Blauherd, following Stellisee. Tucked away slightly off the main gravel trail, this lake feels quieter and more secluded, making it a favorite for those who want a peaceful stop surrounded by larch forests and wildflowers.
🌲 Tranquil & Shaded Unlike Stellisee’s open alpine views, Grindjesee is bordered by trees, giving it a cozy, serene vibe. Reflections of the Matterhorn are possible here too—less dramatic but still beautiful.
🌼 Wildflowers & Soft Paths The trail to the lake is softer underfoot, weaving through small flower-filled meadows in summer. It’s a great place for a short break on a log bench or to just sit and listen to birdsong.
👣 Less Crowded Many hikers skip this detour, so it’s less crowded than Stellisee. A short, shaded forest path brings you right to the lake’s edge.
