Houbihu — Attraction in Hengchun

Visited various places here and there are hits and misses so overall they kinda balance out.

Views of the beach were nice with rocks littering the beach to create small tide pools that small animals can be seen in. We spent some time searching for hermit crabs, fish and shrimps.

The harbour was peaceful and cooling too. Would be nice to spend some time relaxing there and if would definitely help to have more seats around.

The seafood market, however, was over-hyped. While the crowd was expected, many of the stalls charge extra if you just want to order sashimi. In the end, we tried this one stall but the fish was questionable. It seems the way they cut it makes some pieces less delicious than...

Many restaurants here are not friendly to solo travellers.

They do not allow , single order of sashimi slices. Some stores even set a minimum of 600ntd.

After asking a few restaurants,I finally found a friendly one. They allow me to order just sashimi.

Highly recommend because they are really friendly.

All the sashimi are from the same port, so there isn't much difference in quality.

100twd for 20 slices of assorted sashimi or 15slices of just salmon.

its a nice place for choices of fresh seafood and sashimi if you happen to be around the area. there are few stalls selling similar seafood, so take your time and check out their price and the seafood according to your preference. after you have decided the stall, pick your seafood and choice of preparation and be seated while your food is being prepared, very prompt & friendly service. overall price is considerably good value, the sea urchin was still moving when...
