The newly- renovated Green Grass Lake is worth a visit if you are in the area. After being closed for two years, the lake area is now open for business. First the good news. After dredging the lake is much deeper so it looks much cleaner and just generally nicer. Bring your dogs for a walk around the 2 km loop road parts of which are right along the lake. Plenty of benches , grassy areas, shade and a much livelier vibe than before. They even have canoes, paddle boards, and paddle boats for rent. Now the not so good news. Everyone is curious so parking is limited on weekends. Canoeing/paddle boarding is a bit pricey. Plenty of scooter parking though and great for easy cycling. The little island with the connecting bridge is open now as well. Overall, a great Sunday...

Disappointingly you can’t currently visit the island in the middle (I guess due to covid), but you can rent a peddle boat if you feel like going out on the water.
