Wow! The Chimei Museum is truly a hidden gem that you would not expect to find in Taiwan. The exterior of the building bears a striking resemblance to the Capitol in the United States, exuding a grand and majestic vibe. At the entrance, you are greeted by a stunning water fountain, and the bridge leading to the main building is beautifully lined with statues of figures like Mercury and Ares.
Since it was close to Christmas during our visit, a festive Christmas tree was added as part of the decorations, adding to the charm. The museum lobby itself is incredibly spacious, featuring a breathtaking ceiling that feels like a work of art in itself—perfect for photos. Inside, the museum boasts diverse exhibits, including arms and armour, fine arts, statues, wildlife displays, and a fascinating collection of musical instruments.
There is also a souvenir shop where you can purchase unique gifts for friends and family, adding a nice touch to the experience. We spent about three hours exploring the museum, and the tickets were absolutely worth it. Getting there is also convenient, with buses running from the city and stopping right outside the museum. This ease of access makes Chimei Museum a must-visit...
Read moreWe drove for several hours in traffic to reach the museum, arriving at 5:00 PM. Despite your advertised operating hours, we were informed that we could not enter because the register had already closed. We were fully prepared to pay the full admission price, even if it meant we could only enjoy the museum for 30 minutes. However, this was not allowed.
This experience left us feeling frustrated and disheartened, as it seemed to conflict with your mission to serve the public. While we understand the need for operational efficiency, this rigid approach overlooked the human element of hospitality and empathy, which we believe are integral to your institution’s values.
Additionally, we suggest updating your operating hours on platforms like Google Maps to reflect when ticket sales actually close, rather than just the general closing time. Clearer communication could help prevent similar disappointments for future visitors.
We hope this feedback is taken into consideration to ensure that other guests do not face similar challenges. Museums are places of culture, learning, and connection, and we trust your team will find a way to balance structure with flexibility and...
Read moreSimply nice time, I visited the Chimei museum with my family. We went in the period of the Christmas markets. The weather was perfect, light years away from the idyllic, snowy Hollywood movie, it was more suited to beach holidays. As always, this type of event attracts thousands of visitors, so much so that when we arrived at the parking lot it was already ninety-nine percent full. In any case, the car park is large and there is parking for everyone. Inside, the gardens are well-kept and well-kept, suggestive statues sprout here and there and the avenues are clean, the location is very suitable and safe for children. Stands have been set up here in the gardens and avenues of the Chimei museum on the occasion of the Christmas markets on 12 and 13 December and 19 and 20 December. From typical Taiwanese food to well-known foreign dishes such as pizza, ice cream and sandwiches, but also leather goods, outdoors and various gadgets. Inevitable soap bubbles that entertain young and old. Obviously, Santa Claus and the inevitable queue for the photo on his lap cannot be missing. 300 NT$ is the price you must pay to spend an amazing day at Chimei museum during...
