The location was a sugar factory dating back about 100 years. It was deserted for a number of years & some artists rented the location from the government and began revitalization. A very tastefully done and creative theme park (with rich history). It has fun activities to do such as Free Fall, Zip Line, "Swings in Heaven", DIY and fun activities for kids. It's a large park with BBQ area, a pond, grassy and tree lined areas, many restaurants...etc. What I like the most is their souvenirs are all very cute and creative and priced very low in my opinion. Quality stuff from a couple US$ to $20. You find items in other souvenir stores easily doubled the price.
The food is not expensive at all because your entrance ticket comes with several discount coupons. I had a nice noodle set meal with a bottle of quality tea and really good almond cookies for dessert for only US$5. For $7-8 you can get a huge set with main course, big piece of meat, side dishes, salad and drink.
The drum show is FREE! A good 40-45 min performance, impressive.
There are luggage storage lockers as well. Overall, very well organized park, with good information about the old factory posted everywhere, bi-lingual English Chinese, quality food with super reasonable price. ...
Read moreThe ticket boot clearly didn't understand English. When we asked if there's an English map they gave us an English version, too bad that the hours on the English version and in the Mandarin Chinese version were not the same. We hoped to see the 20:00 drumshow and when we informed they said show at 16:30 and 20:00 but the park closes for cleaning 17:00-18:00. Because we arrived 16:15 we decided to wait till 18:00...when we asked again at 17:00 to buy ticket they said price is 200 NTD instead of the normal 300 NTD for the park + show... apparently no show anymore so we decided not to enter...we waisted quite some time to get there and wait for the evening tickets. Their website should be better so we knew not to go in evening that day. Inside they have some activities which apparently are to be paid for example a 3 second jump from one of the former sugar silos 100 NTD for 3 jumps). We looked forward to see the drumshow so we were very...
Read moreI didn't take many photos of the place because I only managed a day trip and went at an awkward hour of 610pm when it was turning dark. They have different charges (and different attractions open day time vs night time). I still rated a 5 star overall because of the concept of turning a sugar mill into a sports theme park. Really quite special and spectacular. You can do sports like the chair lift or Zipline anywhere in the world, but what's unique here is doing it in a former sugar mill that has the adequate height to see the skyline of Tainan. If you want to watch the drum performances (one of the highlights), then you shd definitely go during the day. They close briefly at 5ish to 6ishpm for a cleaning up. There's not a lot to eat and drink there - standard theme park type of food without the frills. But atmosphere wise, I really give them a five star for innovation in retaining the overall feel of...
