There's nothing wrong with the lake, but this park is that it is entirely not well planned. The walkways are too narrow around the perimeter, so basically you can't walk side by side with your kids/pets/friends and not basically block at least 2/3s of the walkway. Biking/ scootering/ skateboarding/ rollerblading here is a fools errand (not that that stops some people from trying), and honestly having sweaty runners try and push past you on the narrow sidewalks does not make for a pleasant stroll. Since the city allows fishing in this lake, the end near the playground gets pretty janky during the summertime due to the fact that there's usually (part of) a dead fish nearby, andt here is also a persistent mosquito problem. There are nicer lakes and nicer parks around Taipei. This one happens to be near an MRT station, but it's really not worth a...
Read moreIt’s a pretty park. The lake is nice and big, there are a few trails nearby that connect to the network that traverses the entire city and it’s close to the MRT and bus. You can also fish in designated areas and you can feed the fish, birds and squirrels.
Minuses are the trails are short, the water is very murky so you can’t see anything at all, there isn’t much of a scenic view since that portion of the trail is much overgrown, parking is street parking though available is difficult and not many lots nearby, and it tends to be crowded and very urbanized.
I think the minuses outweigh the pluses since there are many better parks in and around the city and a few nearby that have all the positives of this park with few if any of...
Read moreThe park is a good place for local residents to take a walk. There are different paths but all easy, clean and comfortable as it is often shaded by trees and properly paved. There's no majestic view, but the presence of a kid playground, a bit of art, and the relaxing tour of the lake are assets. Wende station is very close to arrive or leave, but there are many entrances. The park is also an opening for more hiking, especially to Bishan Temple, Zhongyong...
