We came for the waterfall but ended up having a fun, unexpected foot spa, done by the stream fish. It hadn't been raining in Jiaoxi recently (told by the locals) so the waterfall wasn't very impressive, but there were pools of water on the top for foot dipping. A few kids swam in them too. The small fish in the pools would come and gather to nibble the dead skin off our feet. There are commercial fish foot spa ponds in downtown Jiaoxi, near the hot springs park, but we really loved the spa experience in a natural setting--in cool, clear flowing water, under trees, by rocks, and enjoyed the mountain breeze. If we return to Jiaoxi, we'd visit Houdongken again! (Visited in early July 2024) Cautions: the steps were uneven and steep in places, and the metal ones were worn.
