Congoman Cave gives an insight into the world of caving that is both assured and fascinating. Whilst this is a tourist attraction, it is a guided wild cave rather than a show cave. As such, visitors can expect to see the underground world, largely unspoilt by human activity. There are a number of chambers, well decorated with stal formations and crystal clear pools. Visitors are provided with helmet and light and should expect to get a little muddy. The cave environment is warm and humid, but trousers and long sleeves are probably preferred as there is some hands and knees crawling involved, A guide is actually optional but is highly recommended for those with no previous experience of caving. The time spent undergoing is entirely up to the visitor, but half to three quarters of an hour should cover it. There are facilities on the surface to clean up and enjoy some excellent refreshments. Finally, a word on photography. Cameras and phones should be taken underground entirely at one’s own risk. Getting lighting, focus and composition right in this environment is tricky, but very rewarding when it all works. Congoman Cave is highly recommended, particularly for those looking for an experience a little bit out...
Read moreWe visited today Congoman, a place with a captivating underground cave. The cave is truly impressive, offering a safe and intriguing environment to explore. At times, crawling becomes part of the adventure, but James, the knowledgeable guide and owner, ensures the experience aligns with your comfort level. James's charm creates a welcoming atmosphere, making visitors feel at home throughout the visit.
To add to the delightful experience, we enjoyed refreshing pineapple and mango juices. Congoman stands out from other crowded caves, providing a unique and memorable highlight to our day. Highly recommended, and conveniently located just a 10-minute walk from the main road.

Read moreWe had such a lovely morning here. I took my 14 year old and 6 year old. They absolutely loved exploring the caves. It was so nice that it was all natural beauty and completely unspoilt. The owners were so lovely and took the time to explain the history of how they found the cave and the effort put in to make it what it is today. We had a local dish of chips/omelette it was soooo good. Drinks were cold and there was a shower to clean off the mud and some little swings in the trees. It’s only a short walk from kuza cake and definitely worth a visit. There was such a lovely feel to the place, so much so that the three of us didn’t want to leave. Definitely worth a visit for sure. Such natural beauty with...
