We recently had the privilege of spending two unforgettable days at Lion Land Phuket, and I can honestly say it was one of the most enriching and ethical wildlife experiences I've ever had. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this facility is run with the utmost care and respect for the animals. The staff’s dedication to maintaining a clean and safe environment for both the lions and visitors was evident in every corner of the facility. The sanitation practices were impeccable, ensuring that both the animals and the visitors had a comfortable and healthy environment.
What truly stood out during our visit was the love and genuine care the staff shows for the lions. These magnificent creatures are not merely "attractions" here; they are respected and treated with the utmost attention to their well-being. You could see the bond between the animals and their handlers, who were not just performing a job, but caring for these lions with the same compassion you would expect from a loving pet owner. In a world where the treatment of wild animals can often be questioned, it’s important to remember that there are sanctuaries and facilities like this one that provide ethical, well-regulated, and meaningful experiences for both the animals and visitors.
I think it's crucial for society to reexamine their own views on these types of experiences. While some may question the ethics of such places, it’s worth noting that this is a rare opportunity to see and connect with wildlife in ways that are responsible and enriching. It's easy to criticize from afar, but the reality is that many of us are governed by societal norms and systems, and we should acknowledge the value in supporting places that prioritize animal welfare and public education. At Lion Land Phuket, it’s not just about seeing the animals; it’s about experiencing them in a way that is safe, respectful, and truly unforgettable.
We chose to spend two full days here because we felt that the focus was on truly experiencing the lions in their own environment, and not just as a spectacle for tourists. The facility is not about rushing through a quick tour for a photo op; it’s about spending time with the animals and learning about them in a calm, respectful manner. This is something we found very special. The staff goes out of their way to make sure you get the best possible experience while ensuring the safety and well-being of the animals.
As for the pricing, I do not understand the complaints. The pricing sheet is clear, and it’s important to understand that this is a new facility with newer staff who are still adjusting to the best ways of communicating everything. The cost reflects the quality of care, the cleanliness, the incredible staff, and the overall experience you are receiving. It's a small price to pay for the opportunity to interact with such magnificent animals in a facility that genuinely cares for their welfare.
Finally, I want to address one key point that I feel is essential for everyone visiting these types of places: Let the animals be. If the lions are sleeping, lounging, or simply taking some time for themselves, that’s okay. You are witnessing something extraordinary an opportunity to be in the presence of these incredible creatures. It’s not all about getting the perfect photo. The real experience is in the moment, in watching them interact with their environment and their handlers. It’s important for visitors to remember that these animals are not here for our entertainment. They deserve space and respect, and the best way to honor that is by simply observing and appreciating them.
Our time at Lion Land Phuket was filled with incredible moments sleeping, playing, and witnessing the lions’ natural behaviors up close. These memories will stay with us forever. The staff, from the front lobby team to the handlers and cafe staff, went above and beyond to ensure our experience was exceptional. If you have the chance to visit, take it, and remember to respect the animals and the facility. It’s an experience you will...

Today i took my kids to the Lion land in Phuket. Our experience left my kids in tears, and me very upset.
In short. We paid for a lion experience. We read the reviews first and checked out the place. It seemd good at the time.
After their first experience, they were heading for the next one with an older lion cub. What we notice before we enter, is that the employee hitting the lion multiple times, with sticks. Most of the hits was directly to it's face. We can clearly see an upset and stressed lion.. After a while it calmed down, and the staff sendt my kids in.
During the session, they hit the lion again, several times... resulting in the lion trying to attack.. my youngest son (7 years old) fell off the plattform and hitting his head. He ran out screaming and crying. He was i shock. My oldest son left shortly after.
We have photos showing scared kids, angry/stressed/upset lion, and the sticks being used, in action.
When we contacted the staff after the incident, we were offered to go back to the cage... i asked for a partial refund, in which they could not give. my youngest was still terrified, and did not want to go back. My oldest started crying after it had sinked in what was happening, and clearly did not want to go back. I have notified several animal cruelty organizations today. And filed a handwritten statement, and google review(one provided by the staff, and one i found here)
Furthermore it's insanely expencive, and absolutely not worth the experience. Some of the staff did not care at all when i reported the incident, while others understood the situation. I would like to say that some of the staff acted...
Read moreI found this place accidentally on the way. I went in with high expectations. A staff member pretended to be so polite that it's the best place. She falsely advertised that the lion cubs play a lot, we can take a lot of pictures, it can sit on our laps...etc. When we went in, we found three heavily sedated baby lions and one was malnourished. They only feed it if people buy the feeding package. They are sleeping all the time, they don't play, they are too tired and abused, they are disinterested. As soon as I went in, I said I will come back later because the lion cubs are sleeping but they didn't allow me. They hit the lion cubs trying to wake them up and called us in. We really didn't want to watch all this. They took a lot of money and we felt really cheated. We paid a lot just to touch sleeping lion cubs' back and tail. When we were inside, they were pressuring us like, "You have 1 minute left, 30 seconds left". What the heck really?! When we came out, I explained this to the staff who advertised. She just laughed and said sorry and she was begging for a 5 star review. Clearly the reviews are from the many staff members who work there. They are forgetting to treat these majestic animals right while focusing on...
