매년 매히야 왓프라탓도이캄 인근에서는 뿌새 야새를 위한 위령제가 열립니다. 식인을 하던 거인 할아버지, 할머니가 붓다를 만나 감화하여 식인을 하지 않게 되고 대신 물소를 바치게 되었다는 원주민 라와족 이야기입니다. 왓 프라탓 도이캄 오르기 전 삼거리에는 바로 이 뿌새 야새를 위한 사당이 있습니다. 매년 6, 7월에 열리는 행사에서는 영매가 등장하여 빙의가 된 상태로 물소를 생식하기도 하는데, 마지막 피날레는 부처님의 등장으로 이때 커다란 붓다의 불화가 등장합니다. 이 불화가 바로 이 왓 빠찌에 보관되어 있습니다. 왓 빠찌에서는 뿌새, 야새와 라와족 쿤 루앙 윌랑카의 동상도 볼 수 있습니다. 뿌새 야새, 리앙동에 관심이 있다면 작은 이 사원도 한 번 둘러볼 만 합니다.

The way of the Buddha is not to install huge loudspeakers and blast the entire area with loud pop music right in front of the shrine, in the name of a festival UNTIL 12AM. Buddha advocated silence to attain inner peace and ultimately nirvana.
