I was SHOCKED to read even one negative review for this fine establishment and thusly felt compelled to speak out in defense of Godzaa, my favorite Japanese eatery in all of Chiang Mai. Is it the best restaurant in the world? Few could ever aspire to such a mantle. Is it the best value Japanese in Chiang Mai? The answer to that, my friends, is a resounding yes. Godzaa somehow manages to serve good food at half the price of your typical Old City sushi joint. I love the versatile menu that lets you mix and match and I often order miso soup, agedashi tofu, soba noodles, and salmon yum. Sometimes I get the unagi rolls. A cold beer goes without saying. I have been here more than a dozen times and have never been disappointed. I also like the Godzilla toys lined along the wall as a childhood fan of the nuclear-awakened King of Monsters.
