We stayed at Saii Phi Phi village and read about viewpoint 3 so decided to try and find it! This was trickier than we had imagined as a) none of the staff/locals seemed to be aware of it or how to get to it from the resort (they all tried to take us to Tonsai Bay via longtail boat and go to viewpoint 1 and 2 first which we didn't want to do) and b) there are no signposts for it. But we knew it was nearby as we'd read the other reviews on here and seen the pictures!! So we went on a little adventure!!! By using some logic and common sense (and also getting lucky by bumping into some other touristy looking individuals who were clearly on the same hunt as us!) we found it!!!!! And it was well worth the effort. We only went to this viewpoint, so can't compare to the other viewpoints 1 and 2, but I honestly didn't feel the need to walk any further once we had been to this one. It really is spectacular. The pictures really don't do it justice but I would encourage anyone to go. I cannot believe we have been to this Island a few times and not realised this was just within our reach from the resort we stay at. It does involve a 40 minute trek through mainly jungle territory which is steep, very uneven and home to many mosquitoes so ensure you are appropriately dressed and prepared but, as I said, well worth every bite and bead of sweat! At the viewpoint you have to pay 20 baht entry per person but you can stay as long as you like taking in the view etc. There are benches/seats and a small shop selling cold drinks and snacks very cheaply. So here are the directions from the Saii resort as best I can describe them.........leave the resort and walk right through the small village at the back and over the bridge. At the end of the bridge turn left and head towards Loh Lana Bay (this bay is where you can also get a private longtail boat trip very cheaply to Tonsai Bay which I would also highly recommend. You could then go to the other viewpoints also which are easier and quicker to get to from this start point). Rather than heading straight down onto the bay/beach though, keep following the path around to the left. You will see signs that detail viewpoints 1 and 2 and you'll think you're going the wrong way but keep going! After about 5-10 minutes you will see a sign on the right hand side of the edge of the path that points you into the jungle/forest path. Again this is signposted only to viewpoints 1 and 2. FOLLOW THIS PATH! It does lead to viewpoint 3. You need to follow this path through the jungle for approximately 35 minutes (depending on how quickly you walk! We are quick walkers and we didn't stop once.) On the way you will see official looking blue coloured signs that detail directions to viewpoint 1 and 2 and also Saii Village for your return journey but you will also notice less official (ie more makeshift!) red signs that do say viewpoint 3. These will spur you on knowing you are heading the right way!! You literally cannot go wrong. All signs lead directly to viewpoint 3 and it's impossible to miss once you come out of the jungle path and onto a clearer and more open pathway. You then head up to the right to the viewpoint and simply enjoy the view! I hope this helps more people to find this gorgeous spot and spread the...
Read moreThank you all for the precious review. It helped a lot to know what I had to wear and what to expect. My opinion go straight to point 3 from the main road and then just follow the paths through the jungle so you will avoid all the tired steps that if you follow until point 1 you ll be dead already! I was walking alone with a great view in the most of the parts of the road with friendly monkeys next to me. It took me about 1 -tired- hour to left point 3 but it was so.. so...so.... worth it!!!! Paid 20bath entrance that is nothing for European people and it has a small amazing @quiet restaurant that you can have water/juice also some food if you like and is so quiet and beautiful..-less tourists and a monkey keeps you company as long as you are there!! On the way back I got inside from point 2 to 1 with more 30bath and came back to phi-phi on sorter time from the regular way with the tired steps —that on the way back is much more easier to can handle 💕🙏😇 If you ask me .. I still can’t believe how I managed to do it and I’m pretty sure that I won’t do it again but feel blessed that I had the opportunity & courage...
