I recently visited Himalaya, an Indian food restaurant located in the beautiful Koh Phi Phi island. However, despite the picturesque surroundings, the dining experience left me underwhelmed, ultimately warranting a 2 out of 5 star rating.

The first issue was the lack of authenticity in the food. As a fan of Indian cuisine, I couldn't help but notice that the dishes were a far cry from traditional Indian flavors. My hopes were high when I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala, but upon tasting, it seemed as though the recipe had been heavily adjusted to cater to a more generic palate. This left the dish lacking in the complexity and depth of flavor one would expect from a well-executed Tikka Masala.

We also decided to try the Vegetarian Pizza, which, despite not being a classic Indian dish, was offered on the menu. Unfortunately, the pizza was equally lackluster. The crust was neither crispy nor soft, and the toppings failed to complement each other in a way that would make for a memorable pizza experience.

It is important to mention that there are other Indian restaurants in the area that provide a much more satisfying and authentic dining experience. As such, it's hard to recommend Himalaya when better options are readily available nearby.

In summary, my experience at Himalaya was disappointing. I would advise tourist who are coming for a maximum of two days to explore other restaurants...

Allow me to say that this was the best place we had Indian food in our entire trip (Phuket - Phi Phi - Krabi - Pattaya). Everything checked the mark - from the spices used for the dishes to the hospitality of the staff to the low waiting period. We had gone to Phi Phi from Phuket and were yearning for some good Indian food (you can take an Indian outside India; but you cannot take India outside the Indian) and the moment we tasted the humble Aloo Gobhi at this restaurant we were taken back to our home. We were so content the first day that we came back the second day again (in spite of having other Indian restaurants in the area). On the second day my husband was not in a mood to eat. But once he tasted the Massaman curry that this restaurant served us; he gobbled up the whole dish. It might be a tad bit expensive, but their food quality and hospitality absolutely justifies the cost. The humanity of the staff is also something that I would like to mention here. There was another customer next to us who had an emotional breakdown. The staff went over to him and offered comfort (I know this has not got anything to do with the food. But it just goes to show the level of commitment this place has towards their customers) Do yourself a favor and visit this restaurant...

🌟 Himalaya Restaurant - A Gem in Phi Phi for Indian Cuisine! 🌟

If you're craving authentic Indian cuisine while on the stunning Phi Phi Islands, look no further than Himalaya Restaurant! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a cozy atmosphere that made us feel right at home.

The menu offers a fantastic variety of dishes, and every bite we tried was a delightful explosion of flavor. The butter chicken was rich and creamy, perfectly paired with fluffy naan bread. The biryani was aromatic and packed with just the right amount of spices. Don’t miss their samosas as an appetizer—they're crispy and delicious!

The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience, providing excellent service with a personal touch. The location, with its beautiful views, adds to the overall dining experience, making it a perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring.

Whether you're a die-hard Indian food lover or just looking to try something new, Himalaya Restaurant is a must-visit. Highly recommend! 🌿🍽️ #HimalayaRestaurant #IndianCuisine...

If you're missing the taste of home while traveling in Thailand — especially if you're from a South Asian country — Himalaya Restaurant in Phi Phi is an absolute must-visit! We tried the Aloo Chop, Chicken Biryani, and Himalaya Special Chicken, and every dish was a delightful explosion of flavor. The spices were perfectly balanced — rich, aromatic, and cooked to perfection. You can really taste the authenticity in every bite. The hospitality here deserves a special mention. The staff were incredibly warm, welcoming, and attentive, making us feel right at home. And the best part? The prices were very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. This place is a hidden gem for those craving real, comforting South Asian flavors. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Krabi. And yes — I’ll definitely be returning the next time I’m near Phi Phi Island!

So disappointing after reading the good reviews. Maybe the chef has changed ??? Our 400 baht ‘Special Himalayan Sizzling Fish Curry’ came in a flat plate with a tinfoil base and certainly wasn’t sizzling. Completely tasteless and luke warm. Roughly six bite sized pieces of fish and lots of peppers and onions. The naan bread was dry, thin and papery and the roti was like cardboard. Hugely overpriced for the quality of food. Gutted I didn’t have my phone with me to take photos ! Only positive was the lovely ladies serving us. Don’t waste your money.
