Though the walking street is opened daily. It’s best to come for the weekend night market as all the stalls would operate. I was impressed by the scale here as it’s more interesting than most night markets. The wooden houses running parallel the street also added the charm to the lively atmosphere. Good to try the phad thai, cantaloupe ice cream, shrimp stick, coconut sweets. Tons of food and drinks options, souvenirs and clothes. Starts from 5.30pm. The town was safe and I can leave my bike parked unlocked and returned to it. However after a day of rain, too many insects will be attracted to the lights and get stuck on the...

It's a lovely location and very interesting things to buy from The walking Street Market on Fridays and Saturdays. At peak times it becomes incredibly crowded but if you have dinner at one of the restaurants overlooking walking Street it is fascinating to watch everybody pass by.

the setting sun gives some great photo opportunities Perth and walking street and the riverbank.

Giving ALMS to the monks in the morning light is also very photogenic.

Accommodation in the houses which have been converted to hotels between walking Street and the river tend to be very cramped and we are found the hotels further away from the riv6...

It is very full of tourists obviously, but I love the feel of this place. Its got lots of night time market stalls, restaurants and street vendors. The hotels are nearly all old fashioned wooden buildings which give walking street it's charm. Situated along the Mekong river you'll get beautiful sunsets if your hotel balcony overlooks the River. Hotel rooms are basic and small so don't expect anything too elaborate. We have been 3 times and will keep going back for long weekends when in Thailand. Friday and Saturday evenings are the busiest and the best. It can be 'dead' during the week. I...

Lovely small market, affordable with local and cultural handicrafts near the Mekong. Difficult to find accommodation over the New Year near the river but if one goes a street up and then down the smaller streets it is possible to find a resort or room though at busy times the prices can be a tad steep although this applies just for a few days, book in advance to avoid disappointment. Local food Will indeed see your weight go up because one really needs to taste all local foods available. A lovely laid back place where the locals are quick to offer a helping hand with a genuine smile.

This is no doubt one of the most picturesque walking streets in all of Thailand. Around 18.00 o’clock the sleepy walking street turn into a beautiful long market street with lots of food and souvenirs. In this street you will also find several guesthouses, homestays, hotels and hostels. If you stay here for the night do everything you can to get a room with a balcony facing the Mekong river or the walking street.
