ถ้าใครเคยผ่านไปแถวอำเภอปากช่อง จังหวัดนครราชสีมา อาจจะเคยเห็น สวนสาธารณะเขาแคน ที่ตั้งอยู่ใจกลางเมือง เป็นพื้นที่สีเขียวที่ชาวปากช่องใช้เป็นที่พักผ่อน ออกกำลังกาย และจัดกิจกรรมต่าง ๆ ที่นี่มีสนามเด็กเล่น เครื่องออกกำลังกายกลางแจ้ง และลานกิจกรรมที่ใช้จัดงานต่าง ๆ เช่น งานน้อยหน่าของดีปากช่อง และตลาดนัดฮิป ๆ อย่าง Hip Market 

สวนสาธารณะเขาแคนยังมีความสำคัญทางประวัติศาสตร์และวัฒนธรรมของชาวปากช่อง โดยชื่อ “เขาแคน” มาจากภูเขาเล็ก ๆ ที่มีลักษณะคล้ายเครื่องดนตรีพื้นบ้านของภาคอีสาน คือ “แคน” ที่นี่จึงเป็นสัญลักษณ์ของการเข้าสู่ดินแดนอีสาน และเป็นที่เคารพของชาวบ้านในพื้นที่

แม้จะไม่ใช่สวนสาธารณะขนาดใหญ่ แต่ด้วยบรรยากาศที่ร่มรื่น และการเป็นศูนย์กลางของชุมชน ทำให้สวนสาธารณะเขาแคนเป็นอีกหนึ่งจุดที่น่าแวะพักผ่อน หากมีโอกาสผ่านไปปากช่อง อย่าลืมแวะมาสัมผัสบรรยากาศที่นี่นะครับ
