Breaking this down by category:

Clothes: Drop shipped to hell but some good pieces? Kinda repeated throughout though and you gotta invest TIME in haggling and looking for the cheaper stalls. Prices range from 50-400 baht. Also a HUGE number of counterfeit shoe stores and a couple selling socks.

Accessories: Had an aneurysm over the bow prices and options ? Like I was suddenly possessed by the spirit of a rich taitai with a bow fixation and dropping 20 baht for every ribbon I set my eyes upon. I’ll buy ur whole stock.

Vintage car displays?:

They’ve got these vintage displays scattered around. Some of these are AGES old and well maintained, so if you’re into aged vroomvrooms a photo op may be in order.

Food:

THERE WAS FOOD UPON FOOD UPON FOOD

90% of them were below 70 baht, also insects and sashimi? super cool but I’m a coward. wrote out a summary of our pickings:

Thai Lok lok (?) - they boil/bbq sticks, with different stalls using different sauces, pretty good but my mom thinks spicy ain’t spicy (10-15 baht)

Moo Ping - this was GOOD very sweet and fresh and the stall owner cooks it in front of u (20 baht)

Kanom bueang - THEY WERE SO GOOD? Bite-sized and crispy. 13 for just 30 baht like. Really satisfying to snack on as you peruse.

Pad Thai - Quite sweet! I wouldn’t say it’s my favourite but for 50 baht?

Coconut Shake - so much better than Singapore’s lol. they used YOUNG FRESH COCONUT + coconut milk and it was 30 baht 😭😭😭

tldr; had (mostly) the cheapest prices of any other night market, large size and a huge variety of goods, food...

This is my 6 or 7th visit to Bangkok. By far the best night market experience I've had. My wife and I have this place a miss the previous two visits because it is far from the city centre and not that easy to reach, especially if you factor in Bangkok traffic.

If you are pressed for time and want a similar experience, visit Ratchada night train market. It isn't exactly more convenient, but accessible via BTS. Check out Google and you can see that there are more than twice as many reviews written about Ratchada and mainly very positive.

However, nothing beats Talad Rod Fai Train Market. It's a place for the locals and many of them speak Thai to you assuming that you are local. Things here are cheaper. Toilet is 3 BAHT instead of 5/10 BAHT.

Interested to come here? Take BTS to On Nut and hop onto a cab. It should cost you at most 90 - 110 BAHT (in bad traffic). Ask to go Seacon square.

If you have time, you can miss the traffic by heading to Seacon square early and check this place out before you head to the night market in the evening. The mall is enormous and a good place to eat.

As per all night markets, it's always an issue getting back. If you leave before midnight, you can take a tuk tuk or cab back to On Nut BTS station, but it will likely cost you 150 baht or lesser, depending on your bargaining skills.

Be prepared for the rain. It will affect your shopping since the market is mainly exposed. It will also affect how late the stalls choose to stay open as well.

Enjoy your time here, because I would definitely...

Was recommend by my friend to visit this train night market and I’m so glad I did! 😍💯 Although it is situated further away from the city, this night market is definitely worth visiting when you come to Bangkok. The market is HUGE with many rows of shops that sells all kinds of stuff. You can spend hours walking around looking at stuff, while filling your bellies with YUMMY FOOD 😋

What makes this night market unique is that they sell lots of vintage/antique stuff and even collectibles, so if you’re a collector and a fan of these unique things, make sure you come visit!! 🤩 The market also has various vintage cars, motorcycles and even an aeroplane which serves as a great photo opportunity spot when you visit the night market. The shops also have a vintage looking vibes which was quite different from what you usually see at the night markets in Bangkok 😎 When we visited the night market, it wasn’t so crowded as we were able to walk at ease without having to squeeze our way through the crowd. The atmosphere is quite lively as well as there are quite a number or bars at this market. If you’re looking for a place to chill and hangout with your friends, this might be the perfect hangout spot 👍🏼

All in all, it was such a lovely experience visiting this night market and no regrets travelling all the way there. Would recommend to come here and visit if you can, but do take note that they are only open on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays...
