The ride to this beach island (Ko Lan) from the town of Pattaya was super fun. Large boat taxis (20ish baht) zipped you to the island in about 30 mins. There are faster options but the slower-go was for me to see evetything and get great pictures. To get to this beach (which tends to have less tourists), you have to snag another truck taxi (another fun way as you jam in the back of small trucks with seats and grab-handles) to the other side of island which was a great way to see the island. Beautiful white beach with picnic areas. Food from side beach restaurants was great. You can also bring in food and drinks. Main beach was clean though there was more trash strewn about than I wanted. And picking it up and finding a trash can was hard as they were few to be found. The swimming area was huge and lots of play toys/floats were available to use for free. Nice touch. Toilets/changing areas were functional but might turn off some as they were somewhat dirty but not a problem for me (10baht to use). Jetski rentals available off to one side of the beach. Didn't ride so don't know the price or size bikes used. Yammers tho..and they cruse way out and to one side so it's not a noise issue for beach folk. Overall a wonderful, peaceful beach to read, play and soak in a...
