A tired reflection of what was once a great resort. It looks like they have let things go down and they are not very service oriented. There are more dogs roaming around than guest. I would like to share a few things about service, I don’t normally want to give bad reviews, but I feel like others should know. I think a lot of the other reviews are fake so here is what we experienced in July 2025. It’s not a big thing, but our bathroom shampoo is in a dispenser like you would find at a gas station. Not that big of a deal except ours was almost empty and when I asked for more, they sent me to the front desk to give me small bottles. Why the maid didn’t have them I don’t know, I guess they are too valuable to be dispensed except by the front desk. Later, the next day, they came by and filled up our container. Problem solved. We ate in the restaurant, the food was OK Except for the chicken sandwich. It looked like two small 3 inch size chicken patties that were frozen that were then heated and served. When I bit into mine, one of them was still cold. I got a hold of the waiter and told him that some of the meat was cold and didn’t get heated up properly. He put his hand down and touched with the back of his hand and then the front of his hand to fill the temperature of both patties. He shook his head in acknowledgment and took my sandwich. He then returned a little bit later, with the exact same sandwich that I had already taken a bite out of, and that he had touched with his bare hands. Needless to say I did not eat that sandwich. When the waiter/waitress came by to give the bill they saw that I had not eaten the sandwich and ask if there was a problem and I said yes that it was cold and then the guy touched it with is bare hands and then reheated it, and I didn’t feel comfortable eating it. They still charged me! So we decided no longer to eat from their kitchen. We stopped at the local market the next night and picked up some food and drinks and went to the side area of the restaurant on the beach to eat. People in the restaurant eat here as well, it was raining and as you see from the pictures, our picnic tables were not safe to sit on. There were only 3 couples in a restaurant that can seat 50. When we sat down and started to eat, they came up and told us we need to give them ฿500 for sitting there and eating food that we didn’t buy from them. I told them no, I said you charged us for a sandwich we did not eat last night and I was not about to pay you for food that I am going to eat that I did not get from them. They compromise and told us we needed to buy a drink and we could stay, we said OK we ordered a bottle of beer and they only brought one glass and said it would be ฿300 for the other. They were rude and unsanitary, therefore I would strongly recommend you look at another resort and not this one. The management needs to put money into fixing it up and retraining, their employees to be polite, as well as how to handle food safely. It is in a great location and has great potential, but definitely a place not to stay until...
Read moreOur party of 5 had a mostly relaxing 2 night stay here. The rooms and bathroom are a good size, comfortable and clean. Everything is rather expensive for this normally relatively inexpensive part of Thailand, but you kind of expect it on an island and in the post Songkran period.
We paid just over 2,500 baht a night for each room including an acceptable breakfast buffet. The food prices otherwise might be offputting but the quality of the Thai cooking was excellent. Even the basic dishes were well done. Crispy pork and kale - the best I've tasted in 12 years living here. We paid around 1,200 baht for 5 dishes, 3 of which had nice fresh seafood, rice and some water. We would normally have beer too but 140 baht for a large Leo is way overpriced outside swanky Bangkok eateries. 50 baht for a small water (even if bought for the room) is extortion!
Go elsewhere if you like to watch TV while holidaying (unless you are Russian, for whom 4 of the 20 channels are dedicated). One channel only is in English - and that appears to be some Russian propoganda stuff! The TVs themselves are LEDs but cheap small ones and the signal quality was below avearge. Wifi worked fine though.
I'm writing this review having sat waiting for 60 minutes at quayside at Naban port on the other side of the island, because the hotel could not meet its shuttle promises and get us to the ferry we wanted back to the mainland on time. I told them they were running too late and wanted to stay at the hotel. Their driver insisted he would make it on time. He didn't. The boat was about to leave and the two other passengers in our shuttle were the last to be accpted before the ferry was declared full. I was somewhat annoyed as it was predictable to all but hotel staff.
Overall therefore I do not recommend this...
Read moreWe stayed 5 days at this amazing resort. The rooms were very nice and had everything you could hope for at a beach resort on Koh Larn. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms were cleaned great and it was easy to get extra towels or other supplies if needed. There is a restaurant as part of the resort that made great meals from seafood to pastas and pizza and much more local flavours. They also have snacks and drink could be brought right to your lounger directly in front of the dining area. They helped us rent a scooter for a couple of days and gave us ideas of places to see on the island. Special thank you to Mr Chow and the entire wait staff. The buffet breakfast included was fantastic and made it hard to choose between the omelette chef or the regular egg chef. Both were great ( try them both and do your own review). There are a lot of hot and cold choices to please almost everyone. The beach is by far the best feature of this resort. Even though there are plenty of lounging areas on Samea Beach the floating dock that divides those areas from Xanadu beach protects the beach from the larger swells. The water is crystal clear, warm and sand is so soft. They could use a few more loungers and umbrellas for the resort guests but the intimate area that is provided was amazing. There are a few chill dogs that grace the beach but are not interested in the guests but you may come out of the water to find one dug into the sand behind your lounger to have a cool afternoon nap. I followed their lead. 😊
All this to say we highly recommend a stay here. They will pick you up from the ferry and bring you back when you’re done or you can take a speed boat right to The beach in front of...
