The Kobba Bent el Rey is an underground construction from Roman times , formerly known as the Bath of Dido [ 1 ] , located in the city of Carthage in Tunisia . It is located on the hill of Bordj Djedid, inside the Lycée de Carthage.

Little studied despite a remarkable state of conservation, the building was however between 1978 and 1989 during the international campaign led by Unesco

The building was dated to the years 320 - 340 [ 3 ] . Despite the absence of formal evidence on the destination of the monument [ 4 ] , the supposed residential monument is the one that is best preserved on the site of Carthage.

The construction consists of a large room measuring seven by three meters [ 5 ] and two adjacent rooms measuring 3.20 by 2.75 meters [ 5 ] reusing an old cistern .

The vaults are particularly well preserved and allow the study of the system of vaults tell tubing terracotta and also the vault in...

The Roman villas form the quarter containing the largest number of vestiges of patrician houses discovered in Carthage. There are a lot of ruins but the best-conserved house of the site known as the “villa of the aviary”, which was restored provides a good idea of the beauty of the residences built in this Roman city. As we walked down through the paved street we could enjoy the stunning view over the bay of Tunis. Visit my Instagram (kelledstyle) and my blog for more pictures...

I found this park by accident as I stumbled across the field which separates this location from the basilica ruins about 100m away. It actually extends towards the mosque and there are some significant ruins there which are relatively unexplored as they’re off of the ‘formal’ path. A few nice busts and columns still remain

Very pleasant and easy walk around the ruins of ancient waterworks. Not well maintained, not much labeled, but interesting. Still one column standing. View if the sea is nice touch. WC and cafe right at the exit. Party of the 12TND pp ticket for all the major Carthage sites. This one is worth it.
