Güvercinada Kalesi (Küçükada) — Attraction in Kuşadası

Located in the Hacıfeyzullah Neighborhood of Kuşadası District, the Güvercinada Castle was built in a position protecting the port at the mouth of the Kuşadası Gulf. On the Güvercinada, there is an inner castle built by Barbaros Hayrettin Pasha and walls built by İlyas Ağa. These walls were built during the Morean Revolt to prevent attacks from the islands and the sea. The walls were built approximately 3 meters high to surround the island. Balıkçı Evliya İbrahim Efendi’nin mezarının Güvercinada’da olduğu yönündeki yaygın inanış, gerçeği yansıtmamaktadır. Aslında kendisi Şam’da, hac dönüşü 1846 (1262 H) yılında vefat etmiş olup, orada defnedilmiştir .

2009 tarihli bir habere göre, Kuşadası Güvercinadası’nda kayık biçiminde bir mezar taşı bulunan ve "Balıkçı Evliya" olarak bilinen yapı, ziyaretçiler tarafından mezar zannedilmiş olsa da, bu mezarın gerçekten onun mezarı olup olmadığı kesin değildir .
