Review of Erciyes Ski Resort Rating: ★★★★★ I recently had the fantastic opportunity to visit Erciyes Ski Resort during the winter season, and it was an experience I won't soon forget! Nestled in a stunning mountain landscape, this resort is a paradise for both seasoned skiers and those looking to enjoy the snow. Although we didn’t enroll in any skiing or snowboarding lessons, the vibrant atmosphere of the resort was palpable, with many people eager to learn and embrace the winter sports culture. It was delightful to see so many families and individuals enjoying their time on the slopes, which added to the overall excitement of the place. Our family spent the day taking advantage of the beautiful surroundings. We decided to embark on a scenic trip up the hill using the cable cars, and it was absolutely breathtaking! The panoramic views of the snow-covered mountains were mesmerizing, making it impossible not to take countless photos to capture the moment. Once at the top, we let our child have some fun playing in the snow. They had a wonderful time building snowmen and engaging in snowball fights, which brought us all so much joy. It was the perfect way to share quality family time in a winter wonderland. Overall, Erciyes Ski Resort is a fantastic destination for a winter getaway. Whether you’re looking to hit the slopes or simply enjoy the serene beauty of snow-covered mountains, this resort has something for everyone. We left with amazing memories and can't...
Read moreGreat skiing spots for both, beginners & pro, with 1 short slope specially to learn to ski, one nice blue slope to make first steps in skiing down, and then a number of red slopes for more advanced skiers & finally black ones, including the highest point at 3,400 meters right in the crater of Erciyes Volcano. Amazing views!
There is only one cable car, all others are opened 4-chairs only. All around the ski resort there is #ACCESSIBLE path, even though might be too steep in some places. Don’t miss a chance to visit little bit hidden cafe with the view over ski resort to the right from the take off point of the red cable car.
As for January 2021 there is not so much snow, only 20% of slopes are opened to ski, and since there is a quarantine, so nothing works every Saturday-Monday, but in “normal times” with enough snow the views & the spot is fabulous to experience.
The best way to reach is by car, since there are shuttles from Kayseri, but not too often and with long waiting time at many hotels in the city and 3 stop near the Ski Resort.
PS Besides skiing one can find hiking area to get to the top(s) of the volcano itself, but with special equipment & physical shape, of course. There are trails from Ski Resort side &...
Read moreIn theory, this resort should be great - a lot of lifts and slopes and affordable ski passes compared to Western-European resorts. In practice, 90% of slopes and lifts were closed because of lack of snow. Which I understand - the weather is unpredictable, that's just a sad fact. However, there are also slopes surrounded by snow canons which are never turned on. Never. There are literally mud patches on the tracks and they refuse to make more snow. Not to mention the awful rocks. There are fist-size rocks in the middle of tracks and countless little ones that damage your skis. This is so dangerous and irresponsible! No wonder that every day the rescuers had to take at least one person to the infirmary. The lifts for training areas require separate skipass. The only toilet I've found is just a hole in the ground. I've seen this type of toilet before, but I can't imagine using it while having ski boots and ski trousers on (as a woman). All of this makes me really sad, angry and disappointed - the mountain is beautiful and I see a lot of wasted potential there. I wish the owners would care more about quality and safety. I doubt I will return here...
