Looking for a place to do a self healing while having a nice healthy walk that is for FREE? This is place for you to visit then! A place that you don’t have to go far to experience nature just inside Dubai. This place surprised me with how good it is for its hike and bike trail! I went here not knowing that this place is a great wonder of Dubai. The Hike was around 8KM and the trail is clean, sandy but you can easily follow the trail made for hikers. There are lots of birds, and squirrel you’ll encounter. The place is full of trees and plants. There are resting areas and markers for hikers to know how long more they need to walk. I also live that before doing the trail you need to register your name and contact details for the ranger to monitor the hikers coming in and out, they also provide emergency number before going in the trail (also on each resting area emergency number is posted). I’m happy that I was able to discover and try this place for a quick nature escape! By the way before going to the trail the starting point ground has a Clean Washroom and Shower rooms so after the hike you can take a shower! And feel fresh. There is Also a free refilling water station. Free Parking as well! Coffee shops and cafes are also present on the starting point. There are also, a place for biker who just want to do stunts and doesn’t need to go to the biking trail. All in all, this place is...
Read moreI visited the Mushrif Park Hiking Trail last week and my heart was so so full ❤. Seeing places like this in Dubai makes me feel so many different things.
The walking and biking forest trail is very easy and is about 1.5 to 2 hours. You won't actually feel time passing by because it's so beautiful but do carry water and enough snacks because you will get very very thirsty.
I would also ask that if you're visiting to be kind enough to make carry some water and food for the animals because although the area is quite large, there was no lake of water structure for the animals to drink from and it had me quite worried. I hope they develop SEVERAL(please 🥺) water structures there for the animals to drink from. The place was quite hot even though it's only March. Although towards 5 pm it got cool and breezy, it is quite hot for a large part of the day. Come summer, I'm sure the heat would be worse. I asked the kind gentlemen at the check-in desk and they mentioned that they just survive by themselves because it's a forest and are not separately fed or given water not they they have anywhere to drink from. Edit: I visited again this weekend to ask them them and they informed me that people are allowed to feed them and provide water.
The forest has deer, gazelles, rabbits, foxes, chipmunks, snakes, all different variety of birds and even scorpions. Biodiversity...
Read moreMy wife and I went for this during the Eid break ( mid June ). We decided to hit the trail early and so reached the park at 5.30 am or so. The weather was good then. We started our hike by 6 am and as we start we are given a basic guidance and our phone numbers are jotted down for emergency and also we are provided with an SOS number just in case we are stuck or lose our way here. The hike is about 8 KM or so and it is a loop. The trail is quite sandy and hiking shoes are recommended. it is a beautiful trail and is winding and there are 3- 4 spots where one can opt for a short endurance hike too. One should be careful of snakes and scorpions but unlikely that you will spot any in this weather. The cycling trail runs parallelly or cris crossing at times and so it is quite fun as you run into those cycling from time to time. Equip yourself with plenty of water and more so that you don't run out of that and snacks too. We reached the 2.5 Kms landmark and my wife gave up and so we headed back to the starting point taking the trail back. In all, we covered 5 Kms and it took us 2 hours in all. It was fun and will definitely give it a go a few more times. The hiking trail is just before the entrance to the National park where u take the entry ticket and this is...
