A lot of people have dismissed Bognor as a place to visit these days because they believe that it no longer offers what they want in a holiday. They’re wrong! It’s long beach, pier and promenade are a testament to its bygone days stretching for miles in both directions. Buttons Holiday Camp is on the seafront and you can pay to play for a day should you wish to be entertained as both an adult and a child. Just down the road is a place called The Witterings, a long stretch of Sandy beach with cafes and restaurants close by with plenty of parking. Chichester is a stunning, Roman walled town with an amphitheater and villa within walking distance of history is your thing or a medieval cathedral with gardens to wander around if that is your thing. Bognor has its own high street of shops, chain and independent, and a wide selection of cafes and restaurants. It just needs you, the visitors, to have trust and faith in what it has to offer. Not exactly your soft and Sandy type of beach, more like sharp grit type of beach here. Its one of those places with its own unique character you could say. But here is an ideal place to keep an eye on the young kids because the beach is not huge by any means, there's the usual fun fair attractions close by, plenty of eat and drink places at hand, not to mention ample WC's dotted around the place. The waves were extremely strong but yeh even during the winter it was nice. The waves are terrifying, during the winter but just don’t go near them as there are no lifeguards at this beach especially if you want to swim. The pier is nice to walk but the winds and waves are really strong this time of year. So the pier construction I hope will last a while.
