Bonito Lounge — Restaurant in Arun

Visited late Saturday morning for brunch and catch up with a friend while visiting Bognor as she suggested we give here a go. A very interesting menu and great to see lots of interesting vegetarian and vegan options as well as gluten free options. The food was fantastic I had the Miami brunch and my friend had the lounge eggs with bacon. Food was very tasty and cooked perfectly especially the poached eggs. I’ve given 4/5 as although the service from staff was very friendly it was very slow and all of the available tables when we entered still had dirty mugs/glasses/plates. We sat at a table and asked for it to be cleared but we ended up clearing it ourselves. We waited 20 minutes for our drinks (tea and cappuccino) and 45 minutes for the food, however I would say it was worth the wait. Finally someone who can make a proper cappuccino! Thank you! The coffee was a very nice blend, very smooth and not bitter at all. It was quite loud so we finished our food and drinks then headed out. I also really like the décor and furniture the place does have a really relaxed and nice feel to it. Also the toilets were relatively clean but two of the three stalls had no toilet roll and the one that did the toilet seat was broken and there was toilet roll on the floor. I would say the prices are a bit more than elsewhere in Bognor however I feel that this is reflected in the quality of the food and drinks and feel the price we paid was very good value and not unreasonable at all. All in all I would definitely recommend Bonito Lounge and I definitely return for brunch or to try dinner when next down, but I wouldn’t go again on a late Saturday morning in hopes it would be a bit quieter. Out for some lunch in Bognor and we decided to have a lunch / dinner meal here. We wasn't sure about taking the kids in at first, but spotted some kids menus when we got inside. There is seating upstairs, downstairs and outside - it was lovely weather so no chance of a table outside on our visit, so we settled with going upstairs so we was out of the way... just in case kids decided to mess around or anything.

You can order from a QR code or visit the bar, I needed to ask about swapping some bits in the kids meals so ended up going to bar. Ordered food and drinks, although a couple of drinks they couldn't do due to shortage of the relevant ingredients.

Kids had usual type of kids meals, fish fingers and chips / chicken strips and chips. Adults went for a rice dish and some tapas plates. It was all nice food, although if your kids like chips prepare for the little scoop of chips in a cup! I thought the adults meals were fairly reasonable price wise (no more than perhaps I would pay in a pub etc.) But there was no offers or anything on the kids meals and they were about £6 or £7 each.... I got the wife a cocktail and that shot the price up a little as well! (Cocktail was very nice, I was 'allowed' a small sip!)

I would certainly come here again. If coming again, it would be great to see a larger tapas menu - that way I would have convinced wife and kids to all get a plate as well. Also it would be good to see the kids meals a tad cheaper... with all that said, still one of the nicer places in area that...

We are having a little weekend away in Bognor and stumbled across Bonito Lounge when looking for an evening meal out. Five star review because from the moment we walked in the door the staff were friendly, welcoming, asked immediately about allergies and intolerances and were very attentive towards our food needs. The Gluten free menu was plentiful and the food was OUT OF THIS WORLD! We had the GF Smokey Joe Burger, the GF Chicken Parmo Burger and we even pushed our belts a little further and tried the GF warm Chocolate Brownie with vanilla ice cream and Chocolate sauce. Wow! Yum! The staff went one step further by checking the ice cream ingredients for Carregeanan for my partner, the female member of staff gave us the brand name so that we could check for ourselves. Well done Bonito Lounge you are true credit to us with allergies and intolerances, we will definitely be back. We came back for breakfast! Oh boy we wasn't disappointed.
