Sutton Lawn — Attraction in Ashfield

This is a beautifully kept park right on our door step with colourful well laid out flower beds and large expanses of grassed areas. I'm far too old for the childrens play area, skate park, tennis courts and outside gym but children love them! The walk around the lake is pleasurable especially at this time of year with ducklings and cygnets. There is plenty of seating throughout the park where you can relax and let time drift by. Also the cafe serves food and drink but due to restrictions their menu is limited and when l visited you still couldn't sit inside. The park is wheelchair friendly with disabled parking near the cafe. A word of caution when the children are playing on the football pitches on Saturdays parking spaces are at a premium. There is also outdoor bowls available so pretty much something...

The Sutton Lawn Pleasure Ground is a fabulous place to visit, a perfect place for exercising your pet dog and taking a stroll around the lake is a pleasure as there's plenty of wildlife to see.. There's a children's playground to keep your little ones happy and also exercised... There's a cafeteria to purchase refreshments and you can also relax at the tables provided... Lot's of areas to walk or do some running if you are that way inclined... There's even a Skate park for the young ones to practice their skills...Or Old one's if you're up to it!! Free parking area on site... don't worry it's only 10 to 15mins walk from the centre of Sutton... A glorious place to visit especially on a warm Summer's day... I've always said" This is the jewel in Sutton's crown" And I still...

Walked around the Lawns today and it was a refreshing change from the usual trek around towns. There are a few kids play areas which looked good fun. Further down there was a lake but didn't walk around it this time. I was a little disappointed that there weren't any seating areas for adult, hence only 4 stars. It would have been nice to sit down and take in the views. I noticed that there was a small shop for drinks, ices but again didn't sample this time. Will definitely go again to explore...
