The Lough has transformed into a attraction. With a new, impressive visit centre and restaurant (the boat house). The building offers showers and toilets. There is a new play park and it offers a disability swing, something Antrim lacks. There is a lovely walk from lough to the castle grounds. You could make a day of it and bring a picnic where their is tables and an area to do your own BBQ. There is an outside ice cream kiosk and you won't be disappointed. Read moreBeautiful. Perfect for a family day out. The walk is fantastic toward castle grounds. I when I visited it was 30+ minutes just to get to the old outhouse, and it continues even further from there. Go on a sunny day you'll love it, the scenery is great!

Read moreToday was my first visit to the Lough Shore Park. The sun was shining and the lough looked beautiful. There were information boards and plenty of wildlife on the water and in the trees. Also i liked the modern art statue entitled ‘The Protector of the Lough’. There were plenty of parking spaces, a cafe and a kids play park. You could choose to walk south(ish), which i did.
