Massereene Golf Club — Attraction in Balloo

We recently held our wedding party at Massereene Golf Club and it was absolutely incredible from start to finish. With around 120 guests, we were looking for a venue that could handle everything smoothly—and they exceeded our expectations in every way.

Manager Andrew and Head Chef Sean were an absolute dream team. They made the planning process feel effortless and were so accommodating with all our ideas and requests. Working alongside Fairytales Wedding Specialists, they helped bring our Las Vegas-themed celebration to life in the most magical way.

The bubbly reception set the tone perfectly, and the BBQ buffet dinner was a huge hit—absolutely delicious, high-quality food that everyone raved about. The finger buffet later in the evening was the perfect touch to keep the party going. Sean’s attention to detail in the menu was evident and appreciated by all.

The bar staff were also fantastic—friendly, efficient, and kept everyone well looked after throughout the night.

The course was very well maintained & in superb condition and this was reflected with the very hard work the green staff have carried out, with the added bonus of the glorious weather we had. The pro shop were very helpful & accommodating & polite. However on a down side of our visit was the food. I personally had the roast beef and it was so tough. The mashed potatoes & roasties which accompanied the beef weren't much better. Other guys at the table also commented the same about their beef, and a few made comment to the gravy. Other guys had the fish and made comment that the fish could have been cooked longer as the batter was somewhat under done. For me a very disappointing end to what was a fantastic day to...

Just played Massereene Golf course on our quest to play all of Northern Ireland’s 18 golf courses. We’re up to 58 now and must say this so far is top of the list and we have played some of the top courses. Greens in great shape, tee boxes up there with the best, fairways and lay out of the course just suits the eye with some lovely signature holes. The weather made it as well as playing well. Great reception from lady in the Pro shop and a first class meal afterwards in lovely surroundings of the clubhouse.
