Crawfordsburn Country Park is a beautiful and peaceful park located on the coast of Northern Ireland. The park features a variety of attractions, including wooded nature trails, a spacious beach, a visitor center, and a cafe. The park is a great place for families and friends to spend a day outdoors. There are plenty of activities to enjoy, such as hiking, swimming, picnicking, and birdwatching. The park is also home to a variety of wildlife, including deer, foxes, and badgers. Here are some of the things that I liked about Crawfordsburn Country Park: The park is very well-maintained and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. The park has a variety of activities to enjoy. The park is a great place to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of Northern Ireland. I would highly recommend Crawfordsburn Country Park to anyone looking for a beautiful and peaceful place to spend a day. Here are some additional tips for visiting Crawfordsburn Country Park: The park is open from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM every day of the year. Admission to the park is free. There is a parking fee of £2.50 per day. Dogs are allowed in the park, but they must be kept on a leash. There are picnic tables and barbecue areas available throughout the park. There is a visitor center on site where you can learn more about the park and purchase souvenirs. I hope this review helps you decide whether or not to visit Crawfordsburn Country Park. I highly...

Lovely place for a walk, woodland walk to waterfall is not very buggy friendly and one path was closed due to tree felling forcing us to climb a fair amount of steps but we were determined and got there in the end. The effort was worth it. Very peaceful and quiet. Lovely beaches, and well keep grass areas. Lots of dogs, not on leads, and the odd bit of poo. Lots of free parking.

I went to the visitors centre on arrival in the hope of obtaining a map but there wasn't one member of staff in the sight. Only cafe staff. I found two maps but these were difficult to read, one not detailed at all and is a photocopy of what I can only assume is the park brochure, the other hand drawn by a 3 year old. Paths have clearly changed since these were made and lots of paths not on the maps. I would of thought such a big park would have an official map clearly showing location of attractions and ALL paths.

With useless map in hand I ventured into the unknown only to find further difficulty with directions around the park. Signage was missing in lots of places and your left wondering which way now. As you come out of the visitors centre there is a clear sign pointing you in different directions, but after that, your more or less on your own!

Nevertheless we had a lovely time in the park, and eventually found our way around. Will visit again,...

This place is an utter disaster! It's not being properly maintained and, the place doesn't give you that beautiful fun, exploring nature it used to give. The place needs a lot of work and more for people to enjoy. Yes, it's a country park but come on.

The place is overgrown, trees look dead or are dead and falling. The paths need to be cleaned up, a café/exploring wildlife centre where kids and adults can see the wildlife that used to be there. It needs a safe play area such as a forest styled park for kids to enjoy.

The beach needs cleaned up and made more inviting. You used to be able to go for a swim there, but now due to building the water isn't the beautiful blue it's supposed to be. I can't believe how horrific this place has become over the years.

I used to love bringing my dog here for a walk, but now it's unsafe and people are putting their dogs at risk and, with extremely poor maintenance I would recommend animal lovers avoid this place.

There needs to be serious work done to save this once beautiful landscape and park. It's unfair to let it rot and vanish so future generations have no way of knowing the beauty that's in...

Great place place to visit and has different trails, park and coastal. The car park is free and opens at 9 am (currently). There's a gate blocking access before 9 am. One way in and out, on the way out, there's a bit of a hill with a bump that has spikes on it! I was scared for my car, but it's to prevent people from coming the wrong way. The spikes go in as you drive over it, I wasn't convinced, but it was all ok! Toilets in the car park are unisex. There are also toilets in the visitor centre. There's a cafe too but haven't visited it. You could easily spend the day here and it's free with loads of parking spaces, great walk by the water and great walk through the forest. Took me a while to find the waterfall. You need to walk up to where you first see parking spaces before you get to the car parks, or you can walk up through the forest. Great time.

18/05/2024 A lovely little cafe with great accessible parking situated in the beautiful grounds of the Country Park. Having visited on several occasions, the soup & wheaten keeps pulling me back, yesterdays was Tomatoe Bacon & Lentil, absolutely delicious. The portions here are generous, the prices represent good value for money, the atmosphere is bustling, with lots of chatter and I believe much off the food on offer is all home cooked. The staff are lovely, always pleasant and offer service with a smile. There is complimentary chilled water on offer and the food presentation is great. We enjoy a lite lunch and then a ten mile hike either towards Holywood or Bangor, it’s a lovely day out, whatever the weather. You can always return here for afternoon tea and cake before your homeward journey. I’d highly recommend this lovely little spot.

Visited 30/12/2024, as you can see from the map picture attached to the review there is lots of parking sites across the country park. Once you park up you can then access the country park and its various pathways which take in the scenery and features. The pathways are accessible and family friendly. If you go onto the sand areas there is both firm sand and the soft sand, which can be sloppy for younger kids. The sand is covered in areas with seaweed and the areas of sand are generally/mostly clean and tidy, on my particular visit I only came across two broken pieces of glass bottles so do be careful with kids/pets etc. I do recommend you visit this country park if you’re able to get to it as it’s worth the walk, as we ended up doing about 4.6km in total but you can do a lot more. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
