Very nice cakes and sandwiches. The res' is beautiful. It was busy but didn't feel crowded. The blackberries and wild plums (red, yellow and purple) were ready when we were there and it was lovely to see quite a few people foraging them and filling their tubs. Obviously lovey setting with the working mill and all. Feel like the cafe service is the bit that makes this review drop a star. Bit of a weird setup. In this day and age this is very poor service from a catering establishment no matter how small. What about people with nut allergies or gluten intolerance? Do they get the same short thrift.
Needless to say this reduced the enjoyment of the day.
The staff in the mill are superb. Those in the cafe...
