2025 1/5/25 Decided to try newly open cafe after seeing some really nice food delivered when having a coffee stop, I can confirm new owners have improved the food immensely, hence now very busy. We opted for: panini with bacon /chicken came with side salad and wedges plus a huge jacket potato with bacon /cheese & side salad(see pictures) Very Good value. I would suggest numbering outside tables as there was a bit of confusion when trying to find tables for delivery of food & drinks.
2025:regular walkers through park, new kids area is very popular, and despite my initial concern over money spent on skate park, I'm glad to say it's being used.. A lot 👋
Enjoyable walking area, specially if dog owner Toilets available but in need of some TLC Cafe appears to be open more👍 Had a Nice creamy americano coffee, and noted the food served was very good size and I would say great value, we will try very soon.
2021: Nice cafe,(when open) good walk, great park for kids and family's, but in these troubled times not one person in kids playground wore a mask(20+ adults)
2022: a beautiful January morning let's hope...

The playground could do with a refresh and a separate section for small or SEN children, who are in a bit of a danger around older kids using equipment rather aggressively. I don't like that each Sat between 9-10 they have some sort of group running sessions, with dozens of runners occupying the pathways, breathing heavily down your neck. I was not able to walk peacefully with my 2yo, without a risk of him being pushed or hit accidently by the adult runners. 9-10am is our usual weekend time for walks, so that's now not safe for us. I'm sure there are plenty of school playing fields or sport centres in the area, where they should do...
Read moreI visited this park with a dear friend of mine. Unfortunately it was intermittently raining and snowing, so we were unable to enjoy the park to its full potential, and the paths were really quite muddy.
There was a great quantity of wood pigeons wandering about, there were dozens of the adorable little fellows! I love wood pigeons. As a species they are generally quite shy and wary of humans, but these ones were willing to come within about half a metre of you if bribed with lots of peanuts. They have never been domesticated so will never be as friendly as feral pigeons, but it must be said that the wood pigeons of Lake Meadows are usually friendly and willing to get...
