Unexpected visit
Black Dam Ponds is located in Basingstoke. It's a lovely and nice place to walk around and there is also a park area next to it. Good to chill out and have a walk to watch the birds around. This has a small view with ducks and swans. It’s got benches to sit by the lake and watch the birds. People can go for a walk. There is free parking. It’s very peaceful to sit there. Read moreIt has a nice park for the little ones to play and places to walk. If you walk about a hundred metres, go through the underpass, you reach a play area for bigger kids. You can keep walking an enjoy a stroll over the hills and into the forest. The kids loved running around and being free. Great for a sunny day out I would say. There's also parking which is a bonus. Just be mindful that Google Maps might not take you to exactly the right place but you're close enough to just follow the signs so it worked out...
Read moreI'd say if you want to spend some time out with children and your beloved ones, this is a good place. Take some corn with you to feed the birds, children are going to love it. There are parking spaces just off the residential road, a playground, a few benches to sit down and relax your mind. On a side note, the grass could be tended more often though. The underpass at the back leads to Crabtree Plantation, which is about 0.3 mile away - great for walking...
