Black Dam Chinese Takeaway — Restaurant in Basingstoke and Deane

Would give 0 stars if possible! Delivery was 1.5 hours late so called the restaurant to find out that our food hadn’t even left the shop. Asked to cancel our order as delivery time would have been another 45 minutes to an hour, but the woman on the phone was no help and very rude, talking over me. This isn’t the first time our order has been late since the restaurant reopened and will not be using again. Definitely save your time and money and go somewhere nicer

⚠️UPDATE⚠️: since I was refused a refund I went through my PayPal to get my money back. Then for about 3 weeks after I constantly received harassing text and calls from the restaurant saying they wanted to me contact PayPal and cancel my refund or they’ed seek legal action (I have since kept all of these texts as proof)...

If there was a option for 0 stars I would of gave it, the egg fried rice was mush and horrible, the chicken curry was dry and horrible, the chicken chew main was very bland and under cooked and chicken was dry, grilled dumpling were horrible, the prawn crackers were stale, the stir Fried casew nuts with duck was terrible the duck was hard and could not be eaten, vegetable spring rolls were soggy and tasted disgusting, pineapple fritters were under cooked and tasted disgusting and musy, mushroom curry was very hard and undercooked was not worth the amount we paid 4 people and 1 pregnant lady was left hungry will never use again and would not recommend to anyone was the worst Chinese we all have ever eaten....

Very disappointed with the quality of the food. We always ordered from this place and it was always lovely. Today we received our usual order in 20 minutes (it normally takes 1hour) and to our surprise, the food was just horrible! The sweet and sour sauce had a consistency like jelly and tasted funny, the crispy chilli beef had white marks all over, barely no sauce and I can honestly say it seems like it was microwaved. I have pictures of it, but unfortunately I cannot post them here. We can see that there has been a few recent bad reviews, so I'm not sure if anything changed. We will think twice before ordering...
