I've always loved going to the GOH,and I've always had great experiences. This visit was excellent, right up to the point when the ramp was installed to allow myself and another disabled lady to access the theatre with our mobility scooters. It was a clear struggle to get the scooter up the ramp, as there wasn't enough room at the bottom, to manoeuvre the scooter into a straight position. It took me several, quite embarrassing, tries to get the scooter onto, and up the ramp. Upon leaving the theatre, the other lady was so anxious, about getting her scooter down the ramp, that she got off, and had her husband move it for her. I felt confident enough to manoeuvre my own scooter, down the ramp. Big mistake. The other lady had right to be concerned. As my rear wheels accessed the top of the ramp, the ramp slid down a step with quite a bump, and myself and the scooter nearly toppled over, as the front left wheel was forced off the edge of the ramp. I felt utterly humiliated, as other theatre users, and my husband, rushed to my aide, to not only stop the scooter from going over, and me falling, but to help pick up my handbag, and some of its contents, which had started to spill out, after it fell off the scooter, and landed upside down. The chap who put the scooter in place was a bit concerned, asking of I was OK etc. I couldn't get away quick enough after that. It was a shame, as we had, had, the most wonderful evening, watching The Calendar Girls. Perhaps it's a system that...
Read moreBooked seat(upper box right door F)3 seats for 26/6/2025 for ONLY FOOLS AND HORSES THE MUSICAL.fifteen minutes in to the show we felt extremely uncomfortable,as our box was absolutely freezing cold, when we complained and asked to be moved because the air-conditioning had to apparently stay on and we were told the stairs behind us was always very draughty, they had no other seats anywhere to move us too,but they would agree to slightly turn down the air-conditioning as it had to remain on, but it would take a while. We managed ourselves to close the door of our box during the second half of the show but it left us quite cramped and we had to put our coats on after just fifteen/twenty minutes of the show starting, but we were so disappointed as our night at the Opera House was ruined,,we told the staff member it was alright when she said there was nowhere else to place us which was warmer,,but our experience and evening left us all really disappointed....when I told the staff management that it was so cold my nose was running...she offered me tissues!!Sitting in an expensive box seat, the least she could have done was to offer us all a complimentary drink..Sometimes an apology is not sufficient,, and a goodwill gesture for our inconvenience should have been offered....so to anyone booking a box seat.Do NOT book seat: upper Box Right 1..enter via: Door F....it is absolutely freezing cold and our party of 3 were miserable...
Read moreWhy sell the flashing lights? It was genuinely very infuriating and incredibly distracting. They were all you could focus on during the pantomime, which for me was very disappointing after having looked forward to it. At one point, at the very start, I suspect that one of the staff members went over to ask a group with multiple children with lights to not constantly have the (rotating) lights flashily waved during the pantomime which briefly solved the problem, however after a short while, it was relentless flashing colours of red, green and blue ‼️❇️🔵‼️❇️🔵‼️❇️🔵‼️❇️🔵‼️❇️🔵in my paretheyal vision told me it wasn't as successful as I had hoped. Mind you, these weren't the only kids doing this - there was one with an INTENTIONALLY RAPIDLY FLICKERING FLASHING RED SWORD🪓 quite directly in the row in front of me. Not the children's fault or really their parents either. I'm just begging for these hideous eyesore distractions to no longer be sold before shows - or at least not able to be flashed and waved during! I wish I could express how bad it was as I know I sound unnecessarily angry.
Not especially awful, but the sound quality, especially during songs was down the lagan. Music was too loud compared...
