Love this park. Its very nice and attracts plenty of dog walkers and has great tennis courts, bowling greens and a great cafe with great staff too. The only let down was the children's play area. There are plenty of pieces of apparatus for the children but none of it makes sense. A rope climbing frame in a diamond shape that rotates and the children can't climb into, or up it. A slide where the children can't get to the top without an adult lifting them up. The zip wire was the only thing that could be used my our 8 year old grandson without us having to help him use them. Read moreThis COULD be an awesome park, but it is not cared for. Full of teenage thugs that pick on the younger kids. I have intervened on too many occasions to protect younger ones when they have been on their own and intimidated. The skate park is full of teens smoking weed, mostly in the skate park. Zero security which is such a shame. The cafe is lovely and the staff have always been helpful and prices reasonable. We have stopped going after a group of teens came after my 9 year old who was just trying to go in the skate park with his scooter. Really is a shame as it was a perfect park for us all to enjoy. Read moreCompared to the 1990s decade the park is now a great Child safe zone they have really thought about the play areas for kids of ages 3 to 4 and even teenagers can attend Astley have a football/basket ball area and the cafe is open again tennis area as been cleaned up and there is even a skate/box ramp area.
