I found the Virginia Waters Lake Park an incredible well maintained area for a leisurely hike and walk.

An impromptu visit after previously visiting The Wheatsheaf Hotel Pub years ago. The weather was great and I’m glad I made the long journey as it made for some amazing views and it always felt like I was discovering something new taking the many paths which offer flat terrain walks and modest to intermediate hike Trails surrounded by well maintained Garden areas, Dense Forests and a number of Ponds, Lakes and small Reservoirs.

The Park was busy, But the area has much expanse that it never feels too crowded. Cycle paths, Fishing spots, Picnic spots, Historical sites, Dog walks and the amazing views the place had to offer. I don’t have Children and didn’t see any playground areas, But I didn’t explore everywhere in my 7hours there, But am sure there must be something. There are many open areas for ball games and the numerous views and sites made up for this.

The park connects the Windsor Great park too which expands upon the terrain and views. The Parks holds a lot of Flora and Fauna as well as Wildlife, UnfortunatelyI only had my Phone for Photos which was not quick or accurate enough at distance to capture what I saw, But what I did see where Carp and Sturgeon in the Lakes, , Ducks, Geese, Swans, Grebes, Divers, Coots, Herons, Butterflies, Dragonflies, Pheasants, Storks, Bluetits, Robins, Woodpeckers, Owls, Sparrows, Deer, Foxes, Voles, Badgers and Squirrels and I’m sure there were a lot more in the dense underbrush and high trees.

Near the main entrance is a large catered Cafe with ample seating in and out, Which seemed to have a nice Menu, But I didn’t have a chance to sample at the time. Also near the main entrance is the Cascade Fountain a man-made Water Fall of sorts which is a nice touch along the path. This was one of the places I wanted to take a Photo of but at the time there was filming there and in another area of the Windsor Grand Park, So many areas were cordoned-off. I had to wait until the Evening, But this meant I could explore more and get the Sunset before I left.

In collusion; This place is incredible and I would definitely return to explore further, Hopefully with an SLR Camera. It’s a place Rain or Shine Autumn, Spring, Summer or Winter will guarantee amazing views and walks, Generally a great escape and experience with nature...

I’ve been to plenty of lakeside walks across the UK and Europe, but Virginia Water has to be one of the most disappointing — and absurdly overpriced — experiences I’ve had.

First off, the parking charges are extortionate, completely out of proportion to what’s actually on offer. You’d expect that kind of pricing for a premium attraction or a truly unique natural setting, not for what turned out to be a very average lakeside trail.

The walk itself is mediocre at best: a long, flat loop with little variation, no real standout views, and a surprisingly bland atmosphere. There’s nothing here you couldn’t find elsewhere, for free, and in much more beautiful surroundings.

It honestly feels like you’re paying for the name and nothing else. If you enjoy overpriced parking and underwhelming scenery, this might be the place for you — otherwise, there are countless other parks, lakes, and woodlands that offer far more charm,...

Nice park...if you manage to find the entrance. It looks like the park management have gone to great lengths to limit the access to pedestrians. We arrived walking and missed the entrance by the pub, as there is no sign saying you can enter. We carried on towards the waterfall but it was all fenced. All in an we walked around over 30 minutes trying to find an entrance. It was the first time we were visiting and we expected for the local signage to show the way. However the signage is not clear whether you're walking or driving. One of the signs, indicating the car park by the pub is obstructed by branches and is about 80 yards away from the junction . We had lunch by the lake but to be fair it didn't seem like there was much to look at. Might be ok if you're local but doesn't seem to worth the effort in my opinion if you need to travel for over 1h as we did.
