Read moreIMPRESSIVE. We returned to Kempton Park Racecourse for the first time in a very long time. We stopped attending as it was not enjoyable and infact even when we had a runner we would not go.
We have through the years been attending as members of both codes, owners and invited guests or just for a day at the races
What a transformation
We booked a table in the restaurant for lunch so that we could watch one of our joint shareholding horses run Our visit throughout on a wet miserable Monday was excellent It all started at the North Entrance where we were Greeted with warm welcoming smiles yes smiles from all the staff and that was the first noticeable change Collection of our online pre booked hospitality tickets could not have been quicker or easier (They are great value for money) Everywhere we passed or interacted with staff was very commendable and the miserable weather soon forgotten Our assinged table waitresses fully explained the process on the use of the table ordering tablet for drinks (wines, beers and spirits or soft drinks) snacks and any extras from the menu of the day We firstly ordered a couple of coffees (Hospitality coffee can be ordered throughout the day) while we familiarised ourselves with the drinks list all ordering from the table tablet can be paid for by card as soon as you place your online order. Our waitress returned and took our food order plus the requested serving time She was an absolute diamond happy and cheerful throughout the day The food was excellent and arrived at our requested time. We were impressed by an explanation from a senior member of the team apologising for serving a cold bottle of Red wine.. What a transformation at Kempton. From a betting point Tote table staff were very efficient and helpful especially the lady behind the counter Just for a comparison point of view We were at Ascot on Friday and had a good day out The least said about the Saturday meeting the better
Kempton on a wet miserable Monday was one of our finest enjoyable days racing and over the years we have had a few.
This visit was made more enjoyable with having a winner.. Thanks to everyone at Kempton Park We...
Read moreI went to the rock and gem show the 1st weekend of march. The stall holders all put on a good show, i havent seen that grade of quality for a long time. The merchandise was clean well light and shinning. The atmosphere was buzzing inside even though it was a rainy saturday morning. They had moved the parking to the other stand due to an experiment to have racing on at the same time. Having 2 totally separate events in the same space didnt really work. The rock and gem show was good but poorly attended. The upstairs cafe/restaurant still isnt available so you still had to rely on the outside burger van for any form of refreshment or places to take a rest, this is a major oversite and why so many poeple do not stay that long or no longer attend. I trust the organisers take this on board as it must be reflected in the door receipts. The old style signage that used to go up everywhere a couple of weeks before the show is also absent another big mistake. Someone has taken their eye off the ball. Slowly getting back to a new normal. There are still only about 2/3rds of the number of stalls pre lockdown and a lot of new exhibitors. This does give more space to move but much less choice. The variety of crystals and gems is a bit limited as supply chains are still poor and transport costs have gone through the roof with some price increases above inflation. The upstairs cafe/restaurant is still shut with food and drinks supplied by mobile van. Awesome rock and gem show with plenty of parking might be the best show I have been to in many years. Looking forward to the 2020 feb29th rock and gem show, I have been reliably informed there is a lot of new and rare minerals and stones over from Tucson. Wow it was a bit quiet due to the weather forecast but from a selfish point it gave me more time and ease to see some really amazing Crystal's minerals and...
