I’ve been a regular customer at Papa John’s Sunbury-on-thames for a long time, but my experience on 22-Sep-2025 was beyond unacceptable. It was insulting.
I placed a collection order through the Papa John’s app and went to the store right after to confirm that extra sweetcorn, which I paid for, would be added. As I approached the counter, a female employee who usually works evening shifts and wears a cap looked at me and said with a sarcastic tone: “Oh, is this your order? You always come early.”
She insulted me in front of others. I was shocked and deeply offended. I placed the order through the app to make things easier, not to be mocked or disrespected. Whether I place my order through the app or at the till, it’s the same thing. Would she behave the same way if I ordered at the till? Of course not, right?
When I later asked for an extra dip, her reaction was even worse: “Oh, you need dip as well? Oh my god.”
Her tone, words, and attitude were rude and completely unprofessional. I was treated like a burden, not like a customer who had paid for a complete order. She handed over the food with a look and attitude that made it feel like I was asking for charity.
Let me be clear. I paid for everything including the pizza, toppings, and service. What I received in return was sarcasm, disrespect, and an overall humiliating experience.
She insulted me and that is not something I take lightly. This was not just poor customer service. It was rude, degrading, and totally unacceptable behavior inside a Papa John’s store.
This incident reflects a serious failure in staff conduct and customer treatment at this location.

One pizza - stuffed crust with chicken and mozzarella and the other one -stuffed crust with chicken, mozzarella, onions and sweet corn. We’ve got our pizzas and rushed home to change and eat our meal, when we have opened the boxes there was no chicken whatsoever. As a result, we’ve decided to come back and ask for a refund, the manager Maya that was there on the 13th of March at 7pm, was extremely rude to us. She said:”when you saw the price, you were not satisfied, so you don’t have money and that’s why you are coming back to get a refund”…. Are you okay? We spent more petrol coming to your shop than for this purchase. We were genuinely not satisfied with the product that we were given. So, she refused to give our refund and left the front of the house, also, she was making face expressions that we are here for no reason and smirking, showing us that we will not receive our refund. Where is the customer service? Where is respect and understanding? Who trained this lady? Furthermore, she was speaking a foreign language in our faces and saying something about us. The service, on the other hand, was commendable. The staff were courteous, and the ordering process was straightforward. They also accommodated a few last-minute changes to the order, which I appreciated.
