Some interesting bits but not a great deal on the gatehouse. The stone spiral staircase is very steep and narrow leading to a near vertical ladder to the rooftop - beware with small children. The children's challenge was to find the woollen nuns placed around the museum, to which my child was then told exactly where to find them... It's a shame there wasn't an educational Wheels of Time challenge to keep children busy like in others we've visited so far (such as Whitstable, Eastchurch, Maidstone, Rose...
Read moreGreat place. Only open during summer. Saturdays 2pm to 4pm. You buy a ticket of £2 for adults at the door. No need to buy in advance.
Amazing history. Lots of artifact. I recommend climbing the stairs to the top of the tower. Steps are steep and the rooftop isn’t so strong so don’t spend too much time there.
After that, you can take a walk around the playground and parks.
