This is a lovely area of meadowland adjacent to the river Cam in Granchester. This an upmarket quintessentially English village with typical English pubs and the famous orchid tea house adjacent to this meadow. The area is a hot spot for young families, older generations or couples to walk along after their tea or lunch from any of the nearby eateries particularly on sunny days.

Tip - parking can be a nightmare in spring or summer on the weekdays especially when the sun is out. Expect delays.

Lovely place to walk - swim - paddle ! Good solid paths too for those who are cycling not the best perhaps in places for wheelchairs but potentially doable in dry conditions (and no prev heavy rainfall)

For park your best bet hands down is the community carpark £2 donation honesty box and lots of parking available! First time visit used our kayak fine and swam and had lunch it was wonderful.

I would not advise parking in the tea rooms if your not planning on using it as they are quite expensive compared to park in and not much parking...

Amazing , there’s no other words . It has shade , loads off grass to walk around bare foot , u can use your boat in the river or just have a good swim . 4 stars as the river is very muddy and there are a lot of weeds underwater and I hate that as it almost feels like it’s pulling you under ( seen to many horrors )...

An idyllic and beautiful area by the river, especially beautiful when the sun is out. You can park by the Red Lion pub in Granchester and its a simple 5 min walk to the river from there. Ideal for kayaking and paddle-boarding along that stretch of river. Lots of paths and trails through the fields and woods, lots of wildlife too.

If you visit Cambridge, you have to walk from the city centre to Grantchester Meadows and back! It’s magical and so peaceful. Along the way, you can stop at one of the charming pubs, or head to The Orchard Tea Garden for what might just be the best scone you’ll ever have.
