I don't leave a lot of negative reviews as I try and always be positive about everything in life and this park has a lot going for it and could be really great with some TLC. It's a huge park with an interesting history to it. Walking distance from the town centre, train station, football ground, free car parking, nicely laid out and so much potential Looking a bit run down, the wooded walk is a no no, park on the other side of the underpass is neglected and the beautiful bandstand (Victorian?) looks lonely and out of place and also needing a bit of care & maintenance. Definitely not against it although the cost and labour could have been used better elsewhere! The placing of the play area right in the middle of the park was a mistake. Read moreSuch a beautiful park and it's huge! So glad we decided to take a trek up to the park. Its such a lovely open space would be great place for a picnic.
Nice big section for kids and family. But plenty of space to get away from the noise if you just want to take in the view and if you go to the higher spots you get one amazing view.
The only downside for me is I wish there were more benches especially in the lower sections...
