Great place for dog walkers and families. It is quite spread out. I'd say if you have a calm dog that is alright around ponds/ducks/kids etc then a walk around the pond and up into the woods where the waterfall is, is nice. There is a free car park and a kids play area, the woodland area isn't too strenuous either so nice for families. Also Birkacre nurseries is up the road and has a nice garden centre and cafe to drop into.

If youre interested mainly in dog walking and they wouldn't tolerate ducks and kids etc, there's more of a field and run around area near Southland's. Aim for the top of Dob Brow where there is a number of fields back to back, and a river for them to cool off if needed. Still nice for families but no kids park at this bit, plus a lot of off lead dogs...so if you're not a fan of dogs then I'd probably steer clear...

Absolutely beautiful place to walk and enjoy the woods and the lake, the wildlife, and fresh air. Beautifully maintained, a joy to sit and watch the ducks and geese and coots and grebes, or to walk the dogs. Benches available, free parking. Absolute gem. My dad always loved visiting here, he could come from coppull on his motility scooter as the paths are...
