Ocean Terminal in Edinburgh offers a variety of activities tailored for children, ensuring an enjoyable experience for families.

A notable attraction at Ocean Terminal is the Royal Yacht Britannia, permanently berthed alongside the centre. Visitors can access this historic vessel via the Britannia Visitor Centre within the complex.

The centre is currently undergoing a significant redevelopment to better serve the needs of both the local community and visitors. This transformation aims to create a re-imagined space that aligns with contemporary retail and leisure trends.

In terms of accessibility, Ocean Terminal is well-served by public transport. Several Lothian Buses routes, including services 10, 34, 35, 36, and Skylink 200, stop directly outside the centre. I frequently visit Ocean Terminal (or Ocean Turmoil as we fondly call it) and have some favourite shops but the shopping centre itself confuses me. In 2013 OT became a place to go eat. The food court expanded nicely. This combines really well with the local Vue cinema. Despite keeping its HMV and GAME I (geeky male) think the centre is on the cusp for retail. It feels like the loss of one more good name will be devastating for the venue. It also feels like the addition of just one more good shop would propel the centre from 3 stars to 4. Family friendly, open late and able to cope with the crowds. I can't imagine Edinburgh life without it. My 2022 update is mixed. Despicable the pandemic, Ocean Terminal is still here. Bigger shops have closed but smaller and indie shops have opened. The food options continue from the 2013 resurgence. The 2023 update is awkward as half of the building is slated to be knocked down. However, the trams will soon run and a whole residential block has been built opposite. A new start or an end? [April 24 - The knockdown process is under way but you can still shop and eat at many places.] [October 24- Still a hybrid of mall and construction site] [February 25 - Transformed for the better by the dance studio]
