The restaurant has nice servers and a decent view, but it is located in a rather depressing mall. There are several vegan options on the menu, which I think is great. However, they're not very good (from what I've seen in other reviews, there other food isn't much better). The vegan meatless meatballs were acceptable but quite dry. The vegan mozzarella  they used for the pizza tasted like béchamel. As for the vegan rainbow lasagne, it could have been ok if they'd used something like fried aubergine instead of frozen spinach for the filling, but, with the spinach, it was pretty much the same as a frozan lasagne from a supermarket that has been defrosted in the microwave. The tuscan-style potatoes were decent, but quite generic. The Zillionaire's fudge cake was fine, but you should order it without the honeycomb pieces because they are ridiculously sticky and absolutely inedible. Finally, the raspberry collins cheesecake is ok, but nothing special. All in all, the food was ok, and the ambience too, but I wouldn't pick this place over any of the local vegan/vegetarian places in Edinburgh, Newhaven or Leath. In conclusion, you can eat vegan food here, and it probably won't kill you (unless you try to chew and swallow the honeycomb pieces).

It's a nice place to eat as to where its situated opposite the marina and nearby the Britannia ship. The views are amazing and you can feel that sea breeze which adds to the dining experience. However, you can't order and eat outside on the decking area. This is a downside for me given you can only have drinks outside. Also I feel the food is quite expensive for what your eating in terms of value as you keep ordering. I can only say go out and feel the customer experience which is excellent here and a plus for me. For those on a budget it maybe better to eat elsewhere and you may get a better choice of menu to choose from if you like your hambugers or veggie burgers.

2025 - Visiting Zizzi in Leith has become a tradition with us when we visit Scotland. We had delicious pizza (love that super-thin and crispy crust) and salad. I believe our server was Lynda? She was very pleasant and professional. An enjoyable meal as usual. 2024 - We first visited this Zizzis on holiday last year and ended up here again. Wonderful super thin, crisp crust pizza and ample toppings. Friendly service (thanks Tara!). Nice view with the unexpected appearance of a submarine and another military vessel alongside the restaurant. I’m not a big pizza eater but I love Zizzis and so does my pizza loving husband.

The worst experience I ever had in British hospitality, Zizzi spoiled everything they could. No customer service at all – table was dirty, waiter just bring the pizzas on the table and run away , and I have to look myself around for cutlery, napkins and side plates as we were sharing rusticas. My kids were having cocktails and again I have to go to the bar and ask for the straws. After children get upset as they saw other kids drawing, but no drawing paper and pencils were offer to us, and again for the fourth time I have to stand up out of the table and look for waiter. Pizzas were cooked super fast (in 6 minutes) and it sounds good, but now I know why so fast? Rustica primavera without balsamic tomato, just little invisible sprinkle of goats cheese, no roasted peppers, I dont know if Zizzi still doing spelt dough balls for rustica primavera but my pizza was on normal base, second rustica was margarita and again big disappointment, how do you think which is main ingredient for margarita? Correct it is mozzarella, but my pizza look like more pizza with tomato sauce with rare white spots of mozzarella , and no basil leaves on top at all and no drizzle of olive oil and not even offered on the table. And for last Zizzis signature mozzarella garlic bread – was dry and I guess no garlic butter used, no grated parmesan on top, with little spots of mozzarella and just a touch of balsamic onions. I have been in many different Zizzi`s around UK and know with what to compare, but after visiting Edinburgh Ocean Terminal Zizzi I would never ever comeback to Zizzi and would never suggest to go there to anyone. Zizzi are you serious about what you do? You should give up this business and give a space for the people who knows how to provide outstanding service and quality in your case actually...

The food is pretty reasonable for the price especially if you have voucher or discount codes, It's not brilliant, but it's a chain restaurant trying to keep prices down and it's tasty enough to leave you feeling happy & full and not feeling ripped off.

Like almost everywhere I eat, service is friendly & really attentive - until it comes time to trying to get the bill. Suddenly absolutely no-one seems to look your way or come near your table. It might just be me, but I think I acquire the power of invisibility once I feel full & ready to leave.

The atmosphere is totally lacking at Zizzi Ocean Terminal though, which is unsurprising given that it's in a very large, open area in a 3/4-empty shopping centre and totally open to the floors above. It feels like eating in a massive hanger, and the noise can be off-putting especially if you have sensory issues where too much noise can be totally overwhelming.

Overall, it's a decent-enough place for Italian-style food, but barn-like, noisy and not somewhere you'd really want to linger too long once...
