Absolutely fantastic experience, the volunteers were all amazing, full of passion and enthusiasm for keeping this heritage railway alive. Andrew, the driver and instructor, made our Sons day by inviting him to assist with changing the slip switches to bring the engine around to the front of the carriages. When we reached Maespoeth we were greeted by more wonderful volunteers who shared some history of the railway and ensured our Son had found everything he needed to complete his "Corris quest" sheet, a little scavenger hunt of sorts to earn a prize from the shop at Corris station. Later we met many of the volunteers in the local pub and continued to talk with them about the railway and the opportunity to come and volunteer in future. Overall this was a really special experience and we will certainly be back! Huge thank you to everyone who keeps Corris station running and made it such a great day.

Super narrow guage railway - staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. Very knowledgeable and interesting to speak with. Hope they get the planned extension built as it would be wonderful to have longer riding on the train. My dad really enjoyed it - bought some steam books and DVDs whilst he was there! Advice for those in wheelchairs or have difficulty walking... Toilets at the main Corris station could be tricky to get to if you have difficulty walking. There's no disabled toilet I could find at the Corris Station. However, there's a disabled toilet at the halfway stop if you go on the train. Café entrance is tight for a wheelchair. Best ring and check facilities/access to make sure you'll be okay if this is an issue for you.

A really great little experience for all the family. We had a mixed group of kids aged 4 to 10 and 6 parents. The guys running the train were all really knowledgeable about the history of the railway and trains. Entertained the kids and showed them how everything worked. Gave lots of background on what they do in restoration of old rolling stock etc. They are all volunteers and their passion about the trains and the history really comes across. Would definitely recommend.

We had never ridden on the Corris railway before, but would certainly do so again with the grandchildren Age 2 and 4. The ride from Corris is quite short. On arrival at Maespoeth station you disembark and have a talk about the history of the Corris railway and a look at the engine shed. Back onto the train to Corris. All the staff were friendly enthusiastic volunteers, delighted to share their knowledge or simply chat to us. The shop has a FREE push button working model of the railway which kept the kids occupied while we enjoyed our refreshments. The cafe had really lovely home made cake to go with a nice cuppa. An inexpensive outing made more special by the welcome and enthusiasm of...
