discovered this place on a walk with a group about 3 weeks ago. So impressed have been back 5 times with different friends. Beautiful, calm atmosphere with large expanse of water, which can be crossed by a walkway. Large amount of bird life; geese, ducks, coots, herons, swans which will happily be fed. Young chicks can be seen at the right time of year & also spotted eggs in nests & also nests with coots sitting on newly hatched chicks. Will keep coming back to this idyllic spot as so relaxing/refreshing

Ifield Mill Pond is one of Crawley’s best-kept secrets, a tranquil slice of countryside that somehow escaped being turned into a housing estate. The best part is the walkway that stretches right across the river like a wooden catwalk for ducks. It was built in the early 2000s as part of a conservation and access improvement scheme, the walkway connects Ifield Green to Bewbush, giving locals a scenic shortcut through woodland, reeds, and an occasional moody heron glaring at you from the bank.

Nice view, fun feeding the ducks. Gets all icy during the winter. There's a walk path/ bridge cutting across the pond.

Weather-wise it was a perfect day for our first visit and to be able to take the footway across the big pond was impressive but it just didn't have that certain something other places seem to have. I will visit again and go via watermill next time, as we cut short our walk for the dogs because...
