Visited today with my daughter, son in law and young grandson. Wow, what a fabulous place. Lovely reconstructions of shop fronts on top of all the beautiful displays of vintage transport. Car enthusiasts, motorbike enthusiasts and even train enthusiasts are all catered for with the varied selection of vintage transport. I wasn't sure my grandson would be interested in the museum, but how wrong I was. From climbing up to the open top of a bus, to assisting with a fire hose from an old fire engine, his enjoyment was clearly shown by big beaming smiles. There were interactive buttons to be pushed and he especially loved sending the model trains around the huge model railway display room. We decided to have our lunch in the upstairs cafe. Very yummy food, very helpful staff and prices that were exceedingly cheap compared to other venues we have visited in the area. The entrance tickets last for a whole year so return trips can be made, just in case you missed something on your first visit or just want another trip down memory lane. The staff are all volunteers and so helpful and full of knowledge. A BIG thank you to all involved in the museum. We will certainly return and recommend the museum to...

Read moreBrilliant museum with lots more to see than I'd expected. There are classic cars, buses, trucks and a couple of historic railway locomotives outside, but the real highlight was the outstanding collection of motorcycles. The layout was excellent, with recreated shops and motorcycle dealers, making for a really immersive experience. There were also large collections of model cars and ships, and a large model railway layout. The volunteers were very knowledgeable and helpful and pointed out some of the highlights. There's a little café and toilets in the museum building, gift shop at the entrance, and a reasonable sized parking area. It was great to see the workshop machinery actually operating in the outbuilding. The museum is open on Wednesdays and Sundays throughout the year. Entrance tickets provide admission for a year from the date...
