Mary Stevens is a fantastic park.

There is a lot of greenery, enough flat land to play sports and enough hill to give it the depth and variation. The lake is beautiful and you can walk all the way around it. The café is mega - I always get a drink when I go there because they serve amazing drinks. I've not tried it but I've been told that the food is very good too.

There is a very sizeable play park with seating accompanying it. It includes a small zip-line and lots of climbing frames, swings and other things such as the park gym equipment. There is also an ice cream van who usually parks nearby - it's up to you to decide whether that's good or bad!

There is a raised gazebo/bandstand in the centre which is our panic 'it's beginning to rain' standing area. There are a lot of benches nearby and the kids like to race along the path around the gazebo on their scooters.

There are hard courts towards the lake side of the park, and their are several entrances and accessible parking with quite a lot of parking spaces. There is no reason not to go, other than maybe the fact that everybody else wants to go too....

This is such a lovely park and even though I live within a few miles I have rarely visited, shame on me!!!!! On a beautiful sunny afternoon the park was packed with young families and people not so young enjoying a walk in the fresh air and a play on the grass. Plenty of decent paths for kiddies on bikes and scooters and for pushing babies in buggies etc. Not too hilly so for those who can't manage inclines or are short of breath it's perfect for them too. Car park gets a bit manic when it's busy and coffee ordered on the app still took ages but it was a busy day, certainly good for business which is always good to see. With paving round the main bandstand and plenty of benches some picnic tables it certainly fits the bill for most people. The ice cream man was also doing good trade 😋 The lake is fenced off and plenty ducks, geese and swans to feed, lots of interest for little ones. I won't leave it so long to visit again, maybe in the week when...

Great place to go with the kids. Lovely play park with lots of choice. Big lake where you can pay a small 50p and get some proper swan/ duck food to feed them. The park has toilets. It has a lovely cafe with great friendly staff, food is lovely and service is brill, plenty of high chairs and choice (sandwiches, paninis, jacket potatoes and a variety of cakes). There is also an outdoor gym for the sports enthuisiats. There was an ice cream van there also the day we were there. Could see some tennis courts but didn't use them. Was definitely a fun afternoon out and was great fun for the kids and seemed very popular the time we went even tho it was a cold afternoon. For the summer months there is a kids water squirt park which looks like it would be ace on a hot summer's day. Plenty of space to have a picnic and plenty of space to play ball games. Great dog...

Just a great place for some gentle exercise for all ages. Plenty of space so you are socially distant during Covid times. Nice large lake with Geese, Ducks and Water Fowl. If you are lucky you may, see some of the huge fish in the shallows of the lake. Only pity is the large number of irresponsible dog owners letting dogs run riot running up to young children and fouling the grass and not clearing it away. Today the 16th of October was appalling, one woman had at least five dogs running around with zero attention.

Beautiful park fairly flat with plenty of pathways. Nice large lake with plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the park. On warmer days, they have a small water fun area for children to play in. This is in a fenced off area for safety. Also, the same goes for the playground with a variety of climbing frames, swings etc to keep children busy. Many days during the week is an ice cream van or there is also a great cafe by the house. This is well worth a visit, most tables are outside, but they also do take-away drinks.

First and foremost there is a huge free car park that stays open until 9pm during the summer! A really nice park for a lot of outdoors activities with 3 nice tennis courts, a basketball/football court, excellent park and separate splash park for kids. There are ice cream vans, various pop up stalls and activities such as mini golf on bank Holidays. The park is generally very pretty and well kept. If that isn't enough of a reason to visit then check out this seagull chilling on a plastic duck.
