My dogs have a great time here. I literally found this place, by accident /fluke. But it is now one of my favourite places to visit. There is something for everyone. Large playing fields if there's a large group of you. Or if you just want a quick kick about with the kids. There is cafe which serves hot / cold drinks. Some hot snacks. Sandwiches, cake and ice-cream/lollies. You can eat inside or they have a few tables outside. Also they kindly put out water for visiting Doggies. There are toilets literally next door. The lake is beautiful and is home to numerous water birds. Swans, Mallards, Coors, Canadian Geese. The lake is full of fish and fishing is allowed with the correct permits and set times. There is a great path all around the lake which is excellent for wheelchair users. There is also benches and seating all around. So if you need a breather or just want to watch the lake and it's inhabitants. There is plenty of land and paths to explore around and about the lake. There is also a cycle path. Situated just next to the lake is a wonderful children's play area. With slides, swings and rockers galore. The actual play area is sand. There is also a large wooden gazebo style structure. With seating built around the inside. Perfect for shaded play or escape from a passing shower. To access the park you drive into the structure then drive along a narrow lane. There is skate park situated here and some parking. If you don't fancy the walk, you can follow the lane around. Which brings you to a large parking structure. There are lots of room and also adequate number of disable parking bays. I think the building is a sports centre or sports club. This is also where the cafe and toilets are located. Don't forget to bring some oats, corn, lentils for feeding the birds. Less mess and healthier for...

Read moreFor years I frequented this park every Sunday on match days when my lad played footy. Afterwards weâd go to the cafe which over looks the large pond. Lovely place to sit or walk around with the kids on a sunny day. Thereâs Indian Ringneck parrots that fly about. If you donât catch a glimpse of them theyâll make their presence known by their unique squawking. Sets the scene for me. I do love it there for that. Nice cuppa and a stroll occasionally. The park area is suitable from (Iâd say) 2 years and up. You will see the odd teen there, but, theyâre not usually there all the time. Thereâs a sand pit, swings, slide, climbing frame and plenty of places for parents to sit and observe if you donât fancy trailing your 4,5,6,7 year old round. Itâs clean and tidy most of the time. There is a public toilet too. Just bring tissues with you and hand sanitiser just in case. They do smell like a public loo does. But. If you need to go itâs better than the alternative!! The green is HUGE. You could walk your dog round it or use it as a training ground for your dog with PLENTY of room to do so. Before you enter the large car park (follow the road all the way round to the left) youâll see a BMX track which is popular with local residents and others near by. Situated off of a pothole ridden gravel parking area. If you have a low car. Donât try it. Itâs not advisable! Especially if you value the chassis and any other mechanical part to make the car work.
There is also a fair ground that does pitch up once in a while too. Lots happening there and itâs a great place to go and sit and not...
