I went after a few days of heavy rain. I expected the site to be waterlogged and mega muddy but it wasn't... It was wet and grassy areas looked quite muddy but the paths had been carefully planned, maintained and had drainage... Brilliant!
There were two maps on signs near the entrance. I should have taken a photo so I could see all the different paths.
There were some paths in different places, some went over styles and through wooded areas.
There was a main path which was firm not sure what... Compressed stones perhaps? it was easy to walk on and push a pram along.
There was: a BMX area A smaller children's bike riding area A bird feeding/ watching area The cafe A play area Wooded area Pond area with a little wooden viewing platform
I'm sure there was more I didn't even get to see.

Read moreHartlepools hidden gem. Perfect for dog walkers, families, joggers and nature lovers. For the kids there is atleast 2 play areas and a rock climbing section, not to mention plenty of activities such as archery. Dogs are allowed off the lead in most areas and the cafe normally has a bowl of water outside for them. The staff are clearly invested in the place as it is always well looked after and the cafe workers are welcoming. Every last Saturday of the month there is a car boot sale which isn't very big but you never know what you will find and entry is cheap at only...
Read moreIf only Hartlepool Council looked after the town as well as the dedicated outside staff here do. They are thwarted by people dropping litter and causing criminal damage, too often by fire. I just hope the powers that be in the council don't keep developing the place by adding more and more tarmac. The must needed car park has been closed to be a cycle track which looks very nice but is hardly ever used in my daily observations, unlike the car park is needed especially for bmx...
