Situated roughly halfway between Poole and Weymouth Swanage is a lovely part of the country. If your after a traditional Victorian seaside town then you wont be disappointed. Lots of local history, great walks, places to sit, enjoy the views and unwind. The beach is clean and safe, but does get busy, however if you follow the beach away from the town its quieter and the sand is less pebbly. There's a small fun fair overlooking the beach as well as a couple of arcades to keep the kids entertained. There are a good variety of places to eat whether your after a pub, café (some of the cafes here are the best I have been to), restaurant or takeaway. Parking in the town can be tricky, however there are 2 large car parks, one as you enter the town and another...

What can I say about this beach!! Awesome and great to spend time here with kids of all age group in fact adults of all age too. Great coast with shallow waters, lots of eating places, fun and amusement areas with great clean toilet facilities. Parking on the shore road on beach is super expensive but managed to find on-street parking with short walking distance to main beach. Some areas allow dogs and some don't. Prices are slightly higher than usual for food etc but ice cream quality was more than delicious. People were absolutely lovely and minding their own business. Definitely...

My Friend and I go to swanage often. It's a realy Lovely town. the beach and pier are lovely. And you can see the Isle of wight on a clear day. It's very popular with all ages. You can also go up the top of the hill to see the big stone globe of the world. Lovely views and you might catch a glimpse of the Dolphins. There is a castle and a lovely cafe .Again great views. They run a bus up to the castle from outside the railway station. Plus you can go on the steam train to Corfe Castle. Get the bus back it's...

Found a lovely beach hut for the day and was able to enjoy the luxuries if that rather than having to lug everything in the car to the beach and back again. Beautiful day, mid week so very quiet. Crab sandwiches were a hit and I've cream needed in the afternoon! Great spot. We'll look forward to returning

Located on the Dorset coast, Swanage is a popular seaside town with a safe swimming beach, plenty of nice shops and cafes, parks and gardens and access to the beautiful SW Coast Trail. There's decent parking and it can also be accessed by rail.
