Situated roughly halfway between Poole and Weymouth Swanage is a lovely part of the country. If your after a traditional Victorian seaside town then you wont be disappointed. Lots of local history, great walks, places to sit, enjoy the views and unwind. The beach is clean and safe, but does get busy, however if you follow the beach away from the town its quieter and the sand is less pebbly. There's a small fun fair overlooking the beach as well as a couple of arcades to keep the kids entertained. There are a good variety of places to eat whether your after a pub, café (some of the cafes here are the best I have been to), restaurant or takeaway. Read moreWhat can I say about this beach!! Awesome and great to spend time here with kids of all age group in fact adults of all age too. Great coast with shallow waters, lots of eating places, fun and amusement areas with great clean toilet facilities. Parking on the shore road on beach is super expensive but managed to find on-street parking with short walking distance to main beach. Some areas allow dogs and some don't. You can also go up the top of the hill to see the big stone globe of the world. Lovely views and you might catch a glimpse of the Dolphins. There is a castle and a lovely cafe .Again great views.
